do you have a discord server for the development of your necron 4th race? it would be very beneficial for both the community looking for updates on the progress, and for the devs, who can easily get input on balance
no discord. I'm currently retooling them from the ground up and deciding on either chaos daemons, tau, or tyranids to do alongside them, but ill post a few model updates here tomorrow there on my other computer
Hello, I found your project a few years ago, I had the same goal but wanted to port the models to warcraft 3, in order to do so, I programmed a few tools to automate the tedious tasks such as coloring texture.
Ok let's tackle your comments one by one. Ok about Space Marine and Imperial tanks. The tanks, well most vehicles in general I've been avoiding converting over do to the fact that they have multiple weapon systems all capable of firing / attacking multiple units. Now this is hard it implement into starcraft 2 and I just recently figured out a way I can convert the models in a way that they can be implemented into starcraft 2 to be used in that fashion. But it also takes a lot of sc2 editor knowledge to get them working as they won't be plug and Play because of the many turret weapons on the vehicles. I think that also covers your question about where are the tanks and walkers. Now about your comment that you want more equipment from all the races. This is something I would love also. But as I am working alone on converting over 40k units I have to pick and choose my battles. As it is surprisingly long process just to do one unit. If I was to pick up some help in the converting process I would be able to pump up more units faster. Also on a side note. Me and two other people are currently working on a necron custom race mod for sc2 so sadly untill that is done or to a point where it only polish and small updates left. I probably won't be converting anymore units over.
Maybe. I think I'll leave that up to the data guy where he wants the mod distributed from since the mod will only be possible because of his data skills. I will either host it here or definitely leave a link to access it. But I will host the updated models I worked on for the mod here.
In reply to deadlyxtrips: Can you teach me how to extract units? I know almost everything, but I have a little problem, when I import it to something like Fbx or a game file it bugs like animations, it turns out all wrong and I don't know how to fix it.
This comment definitely deserves its own reply. If you are serious and want to learn how to convert over dawn of war 1 or 2 units. I can definitely teach you and show you all the tricks I learned along the way. Again if you are serious let me know and I'll give you a list of tools and programs you need to get started.
First and foremost you'll need to own a copy of Dawn of War 1 and it's three expansions or Dawn of War 2 and it's one expansion.
Or both games and there expansions depending what models from what game you want to convert over. Second you will need a working copy of 3ds max 2016 and the StarCraft 2 3ds max 2016 art tools. The 2016 art tools are a little hard to find. There is also a version of the SC2 art tools for 3ds max 2011 if that's a easier version of 3ds max to acquire the art tools are probably more easier to find for that version also. You will also need a version of 3ds max 2010. Since the Dow 1 and 2 import, export scripts don't work with versions higher than that. After you acquire those things send me a private message and I'll let you know what tools and scripts from the Dow modding community you need to get started. There are ways to get 3ds max 2016,2011 and 2010 for free. You can activate them using the student trial versions and once that expires there are other ways to continue using them for free but you'll have to Google and find how to do that on your own.
is the 4th race still being worked on?

I managed to make a small application to quickly color the grayscale texture, here's the description and source code : https://github.com/Jaccouille/dow2-texture-painter/tree/master
Here's a link to download the application https://github.com/Jaccouille/dow2-texture-painter/releases/download/v0.1/dow2-texture-painter-0.1.exe
I've only tested it on my machine, let me know if you try it or are interested in a few additional features.
I made this because I believed it might be useful to other people apart from me.
I would like to see more space marines, their hero tanks, and imperial tanks
