Defend the Colony
Basically just click on the zerg to kill them, in the style of many Adobe Flash games like defend the castle.
Mostly just a proof-of-concept and something to help new mappers learn. It is fully playable with scorekeeping and cooperative gameplay.
The game difficulty changes with game speed. Normal is rather easy and faster is pretty tough.
Levels are endless and cumulative.
Good points!
Problem was that during testing everything was at normal speed. Of course I later found out that the game will be played on faster in actuality. This makes it quite a bit tougher because you need to get in an extra 2 clicks per second than you would normally. I think I got to wave 9 on faster where on normal it was easy to get to 30+.
I could just dynamically change HP with game speed. Most issues like low money and slow repairs are from the difficulty on faster. On normal speed your minerals will scale quick and you can easily afford to repair from zero to full in one wave or just spawn a ton of tanks and decimate them all.
I'll take a look at it, thanks for the comments!
The zerg units have too much HP. It'd be more enjoyable with the attacking units dying in 1-2 for the small units, and 3-4 for the big units. With the number of enemies you have attacking i have to click like 25 clicks per second to keep them from touching my base.
I think the map has alot of potential thats why i'm posting this.
If you'd ad a sound to when you attack a unit... like... the ghost rifle strike sound or something to make it fun to click ultralisks.
Also the distance from the sides to the attack range of most of the units is pretty small.
The ultralisk should die from one less hit, the hydralisks need a reduction of 2 or 3 clicks, and the queens need a reduction of 1 or 2 clicks. Mutalisks seemed to have an ok amount of health but could use a reduction of 1 click as well.
Also, more likely than not i was playing on faster. The only way i know to open maps is to drag and drop them over the icon, cuz they don't seem to appear when i put them in the maps folder. SOOOO.... that was probably a review on the faster setting, so i might be talkin out my ass.
Also, as a note i tried repairing my buildings and that didn't seem to work. Maybe it does and it just doesn't give that much health back.
Also, the amount of money that you recieve is a little low, i think if you fixed some health issues with the zerglings it might be fine, but as of right now you don't get enough money to spend.
Don't take what i say seriously i enjoyed the game, I just was hoping maybe you'd see this and go... OH sweet FEEDBACK.
Thanks for the map!
