Daara's Vtech Paintball

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of StarCraft II. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Based on the original Vtech Paintball from SC1. 2 Teams fight to capture each others flags. Currently there are 4 available units to choose from.

Currently in place, ver. 0.12

  • -W, A, S, D, and Jump Movement
  • - "3rd Person" camera
  • -Can only pick up opposing teams flag
  • -Flag Capping System
  • -Flag Drop System
  • -Respawn System
  • -Unit Selection System
  • -Balanced Map on both sides
  • -Leaderboard and Score System

To be added in the future.

  • -Unit Upgrades
  • -More unit abilities
  • -More unique unit abilities
  • -More units to choose from
  • -Placing and Removing "flag" actor above the "flaggers" head (currently bugged in triggers, i believe)
  • -Further balancing between unit types

Current Gameplay

Capping a flag differs in this version compared to the original Vtech. In SC1 when you capped the flag you got an additional unit to control. However I'm shying away from that and making this more of a capture the flag game than the original was. Currently each kill will grant you and your team 1 point and each flag cap will grant your team 10 points. The first Team to 100 points wins (subject to change).

  • Marine counters Marauder
  • Marauder counters Engineer
  • Engineer counters Ghost (somewhat)
  • Ghost Counters Marine

Upgrading

I haven't decided how I'm going to do upgrades yet in this one. I really want to keep air units out of the game. Also Vtec got to be pretty imbalanced towards the end of the game especially if you got lucky with some kills. I'm probably leaning towards upgrading you unit via increased hp, shields, energy, and damage rather than making you a completely different unit. I however won't rule out giving more options as your team gets more points.

Seeing as how I have to wait for the campaign to be released to get Medic, Firebat, Goliath, Vulture, and other unit models I'll probably make the decision then.
