Cho'Jin
You are the Cho'jin, rampage through the city to your target. Gain energy by toasting them with your fire breath. Restore life by decimating your enemies with your mighty powers.
Hold down control to rotate the camera.
I would appreciate any suggestion/ideas for improvement.
One tiny little suggestion: make the camera toggle-able (or, at least, zoom out a little).
I can barely see anything with the Hydra so large and in the way.
Other than that, though, great map and concept. :)
I find it breaks if you zoom in, decent camera taking alot of work. Gonna be at least a week before I can work on this next but will get back to this soon. Wanna sort the damn thing out so I can make a proper start on a mult player version.
It's fun, but the camera is very difficult to use. After a while, it would stop following the hyrdralisk. Even when it does, it's too zoomed in. Awesome concept, though.
Hydralisk should be small and threat levels go up or something :P
I broke it? :/
All I know is I was having fun... then I sent him walking back towards the water he came from (curiosity), and at the same time I happened to be hot keying him to Ctrl+1, suddenly the camera spazzed out and was at an impossible to play with angle... sorry that's all the info I can provide. Hope you can figure it out.
Ok thanks for that took that onboard. Enemy now have a small variety of waves, some perodic some triggered by regions of unit deaths. Not a fan of leveling systems but I see your point, added a growth system where he gets bigger and gains stats from feeding off power plants. Also made them essential to kill to progress through the level. Its good to keep things interesting. Baneling summon speed massivly buffed. Also made arrows much bigger to make it clearer where your going. Am working on a mutli player version with multiple monster selection but thats a project for a later date. Oh and i figured the portrait keeps tally of your kills so no need for a counter.
Not sure how I won but I did.
Anyway. It's a very static map. Having a whole bunch of defense marshalling would be cool. Like having army spawns that chase after you. Make the map more dynamic. More movement and activity on the Terran side.
A leveling system would add some fun to it too. Also mission objectives could give the player a sense of purpose.
The banelings take a long time to spawn.
Maybe add a kill count.
You could take it the way of multiplayer madness. Multiple monsters trying to destroy the bases, and it's a race to get to be the strongest. If you did that you'd definitely have to add some tiers of strength to the Terran so they can't just be wiped out.
Or a single player campaign type thing like I described above.
You could add timed upgrades to the enemies if you add a leveling system, so the enemies get stronger as time passes. Or as you complete objectives.
The attack gives mana and spells gives health idea is pretty nice.
Updated with better camera. Set it to target just above the model found coped with terrain much better.
Monster map!
And yea, the camera. It's really hard to see, I suggest letting the player zoom out the camera, in addition to being able to rotate it.
Did notice you could rotate the camera holding down control?
First thing is first. The camera. :(
I'd give more feedback if only I could see where I am going. ;)
I do want to add that it was funny how you stretched building models to make them look like skyscrapers. Good show.
