Char Invasion
This is a Base/Hero defense map, you play either as one of the 4 (unique) heroes or the commander that control the base defenses and the other units. Waves of Zerg will attack the base and you have to defend the base, the waves will get stronger over time. If you run out of space for your buildings, then expanding to a nearby abandoned base can give you more room, but it will come at a cost. This is a work in progress, please leave any feedback and/or ideas for heroes or other stuff that you would like to see in the map.

I think I fixed it, not really sure what caused the orphaning tho.
Ok, So i tried to upload this map to my profile so that way my friends and I can play it, but when I try to save it so I can get rid of the "Document does not have a name set" text, one of the triggers becomes orphaned and a message comes up saying "Warning: Orphaned trigger parameter removed from Function Call 'Camera Yaw of Player' (Parameter Value, 5BA9672F, Lib: 1)". So I am not sure what to do, because i was able to upload it before when you didnt update it and it worked fine.

As I said before, I published your map on SEA. Due to publishing errors, I had to rename it to "Escape from Char". Hope that's alright. I've also posted a thread in the Custom Maps Forum of SEA if you want to check any feedback there.

I also asked them to post bugs or suggestions here since I figured that would be easier for you.
I don't think the random hero when timer runs out is working correctly yet. In a game earlier today, there were five of us. Three managed to pick Command Center, Marauder, and Ghost. The last two of us who waited for the timer to run out did not get the Marine or the Firebat. Our cameras were locked over the selection area where you pick the heroes or command center.
Might want to look into that. :)
I set the game speed to normal with triggers, because it feels much more "realistic".
Doesnt look any good when your hero is running around like Speedy Gonzales, atleast thats what I think.
Oh one more thing, I'm not sure what's causing it but the game seems to be set by default to Normal speed even if I set Faster game speed in the lobby. Is this on purpose? Is there a way around this to set the game to a faster speed instead?
Ah ok. I'll see if I can work those changes in to the next update you have for the map.
If I remember correctly, I used "Modified Hero Defense" as the Basic Description. Maybe you want to try something along that line so that it's more descriptive than "Custom".

I am also working on an AI, now as I have removed most of the bugs from the map, perhaps it will see daylight soon.
And I have "loads" of details in the Map Info section, must be Blizzard's sucky map editor coding (which I believe is different from region to region).

I've published your map on the SEA server. I'll keep it up there if there is enough interest from other players. If you want me take it down, just post it here. I'll be checking this every other day or so until I take the map down.
I've tried it. I don't like the FPS takes on the maps so I can't say I enjoy the hero aspect of it. The base addition is nice though. There's also a slight problem when I try to scroll out (zoom out with mouse wheel). I can't seem to scroll back in and get the right view again (when I tried earlier anyway).
Also, maybe you can put the option of AI taking over the base if no player picked it.
Also, you might want to add details in the "Map Info" section. I had to add info there manually before publishing. i just copy and pasted your information here and noted you as the map's author.

Wont be long until this one gets out of the beta phase, as I believe I have removed most of the known bugs, only have 1 left (not counting the camera failing, as I havent been able to recreate that bug, except for when trying to run out of camera bounds ( which is now impossible to do). )
Which are the commands? In order that the units gather materials
Soooo I played the map with a freind and we found some "bugs" first still the respawn thing when the hero dies the player has to wait, If the player who has chose to build the base sends units to support the hero those unit sometimes block the hero that he stucks and cant move. and when 3 minutes are left there r too many units suddenly when u play with 2 players theres no chance to win. and it would be cool if heroes get som special abilities exept the flashlight of the marauder thats cool xD hotkey F btw
Vehicles are actually on the to do list, I want the heroes to be able to enter for example a siege tank or a thor and then be able to control it, but oh the scripting, the horrible scripting. :P
So is the AI, but those two are not a priority atm. Perhaps after I have squished most of the bugs n such.
Theres no respawn but the Idea is REALLY great i like it :D i dont know about this map making thing but you should add more heroes and maybe vehicles, A AI fpr the RTS would also be good :D
Looked up on Blizzard's publishing policy, seems like this wont be published on b.net in the us (by me) in the near future. Unless they realise that they are being douchebags not allowing cross region publishing.
Yeah regarding the hero picking system, I am not that happy with it atm, should probably put a warning in the loading screen while I am tweaking that one. Regarding the battle.net, I have published it on the eu side, not really sure how the map publishing works regarding other regions.
