Cats and Ratlings
Description
This is a tag map, similar to Cats and Mice available for Wacraft 3. This map has a heavy focus on quality.
The Ratlings will try to run and build up defenses while the Cats will try to eliminate the Ratlings. The Ratlings have the ability to sprint, blink and burrow (with movement). They can also build buildings. If a Ratling dies, all his/her buildings will be destroyed and an egg will be created in the middle of the map. The eggs will spawn new Ratlings If another Ratling enters the middle of the map to resque them. The Cats will perhaps have different unittypes to choose between in the future, but right now there is only the Ultra Cat. It's abilities are sprint, third eye (scan), guardian shield, burrow (immovable) and the allseeing eye (scans on top of all ratlings, costs alot of energy).
Strategies for Ultra Cats:
- Burrow at a gold chest and wait for a Ratling to come mine from it, then surprise-attack. Don't stay too long though, as it gives time for the Ratlings to build up their bases.
- Save up energy if you would like to use alot of scans and sprints in a short period of time.
- Keep your eye on the middle of the map if there are eggs there, some foolish Ratling might try to save his comrades.
Strategies for Ratlings:
- Build alot of buildings across the map to gain more vision.

- The Ratlings: 8 players
- The Cats: 2 players
Recently added
- Added new buildings to the Ratlings: Siege Cannon and Slime Cannon.
- Reduced the mineral cost of Photon Cannon and made it weaker.
- Reduced the mineral cost of Pylon.
- Added a custom loading screen.
- Added ready dialog in the beginning of the map and scoreboard with alive/dead status.
- Titles, just for fun and braging rights. Only titles available right now is "Beginner" (everyone has this from the beginning) and "Cheesemaster" (only available to friends of mine). I'm currently working on adding "Catslayer" (kill a cat obviously), I'm learning banks atm.

Currently working on
- Titles and bank-system.
- Powerups, random spawn of 4 different places on the map. Powerups are planned to be: superspeed, invisibility, invulnerability, extra energy regeneration and mineral bonus.
- Upgrades and abilities for Cats.
Future ideas
- More "for fun" additions to the map that is customisable in the beginning dialog, each one attainable through completing achievments on the map. Like for example, change appearence of Ratling to "Black Ratling", achievment needed "Kill an Ultra Cat.".
- Cannon idea: Mortar Cannon. Low damage, range across the entire map. Long build time to allow the ratling to run away before it finishes. The Cat sees the direction it's coming from when the missile hits. I'm thinking missile turret model. Will require an upgrade at the Upgrade Center.
- Random doodads/day/night at every game start. Also different terrain schemes, possible?
- Balancing, triggers for making one team stronger if there are fewer players in it.
- Upgrades and research for Cats. Building or at the cat itself?
- Experience gain, saved in a bank. The experience will allow you to choose cool stuff (like appearence, abilities) at the beginning of the game.
- Popup texts in the bottom center of the screen when certain things happen in the game, like when a Cat/Ratling dies.
- Different map options, like length of timer until ratlings win etc, through vote or chosen by admin (most played games perhaps?).
