Card Masters

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of StarCraft II. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Card Masters

Card Masters is not your average trading card game Mod for Starcraft 2. Card Master combines the best features of several genres into one unique new kind of gameplay.

How is it played

When starting a game, you have a deck of cards which are divided into the categories buildings, units, upgrades and abilities. Buidings are used to provide suppy, tech and production. Each of these three are required to get units onto the battlefield. Considering you have the supply, resources and tech you can summon units on to the bettle field. Units will spawn on a chess field like battle field, on which the battle vs. your opponent is fought. The battle goes on round wise. Each turn you can issue commands to your units, like moving, attacking or use of special abilities. Upgrade Cards can be used to give permanent benefits to your army, buildings or tech. Ability cards cast global abilities which can have a pletora of effects, like buffs, debuffs, damage effects etc.

Match progress

To give a brief example of how the game is played, we will pretend that we are in a match playing as terran, fighting a protoss opponent. Each turn is divided into several phases: a Building Phase, a Preparation Phase and a Command Phase.

Building Phase

In this pase attention is focused on you base. During this phase you can build structures with your Building Cards, to increase income, supply and tech.

Preparation Phase

As the name states, this phase exists for you to be able to prepare your army to get into combat. In this phase, you can summon new units, play abilities or use upgrades. After summoning a unit yopu have to wait one round for it to be commandable.

Command Phase

During Command Phase, battle commences. You issue orders to your units to move to a certain point, attack an enemy or use special unit abilities. Remember: To use a unit in Command Phase, it must have been summoned in the previous turn.
