WORKING ON BUGFIXES REPLY WITH ANY BUGS YOU FOUND!
Fixed/changed stuff:
-Changed pathing
-Cancel button in probe advanced build menu back to default position
-Made things look cleaner
-Kerrigan is harder
-Viewing underside of map
-No energy regen on nexus
-custom units weren't working, now fixed
-carriers are now an actual option because I changed where pathing blockers were
-removed errors showing
-changed fog of war
-removed doodad collision
-removed the entire map showing from start
INTENDED FEATURES:
- No warp gates (From what we know, warp gates were first discovered/shown on Xil when Raynor was digging out one of the xel'naga artifacts and he saw protoss warping in)
- No mothership abilities (Probably going to be an upgrade from a custom building, or something you unlock over time)
If there is anything else I should change/fix, reply!
Also, thank you vastanx and TChosenOne for giving me some constructive criticism, much appreciated!
Hello. I played you first mission.
Before starting. I hope you are one of the people who have the maturity to receive criticism. This is in order to help you and your project.
First problem (it is a common error with the new ones)
You didn't turn off the error switch when testing.
Next problem
Borders...}
Next one
The Nexus have an ability but have no enery/mana regen.
Next one
The flying path you made create many bugs when the units try to find a path.
The unit and the doodad colide
The mothership supose to have a mass cloak but all units are visible.
I ignore why the cancel btn is there but the usual place is the ricght-down corner
Also the map dosent have much sense if you show it from the start.
To end:
I know this is your first map and that this is not what you have in your mind. But it is because you still do not handle the editor well. But it is your first step and you just have to keep walking.
Best of luck.
In reply to vastanx:
Hey There!
Thank you for replying, will take all of these into consideration. I have been working based on what ChosenOne has said over the past few hours and I am going to fix these issues. I cant get the cancel button to move, it shows its in the bottom right in command card editor, I'm trying to fix it right now. I will hide the errors. I removed mass cloak because the mothership was going to be upgradeable in the future because having an ability like that to start doesn't seem very reasonable. Trying to fix the energy regen on nexus too.
Thank you so much for replying!
I played through your map and I've got a problem with it. You're trying to do a very serious campaign, but the problem is the gameplay seems to lack seriousness.
Like you've just got this perfectly formed, right angled, immersion breaking, silly looking, zig-zag trench that's ridiculously narrow to the point where units are going to be marching in 2 by 2s or 1 by 1, which makes combat a little boring since you have so few units that can actually participate.
If you decide to go air cause there's so little that shoots up (and you can concentrate your DPS rather than a massive line), you're going to quickly steamroll the map, discover that blockers make rallying tedious and also find that blockers make interceptors path in a very silly manner.
Also Kerrigan's supposed to be this massive threat but can only basic attack and has 1000 hp?
It's really hard to take this seriously when the gameplay doesn't seem to be serious.
In reply to TChosenOne:
Hey, thanks for replying.
I just played through it again and noticed that, will try to improve because the pathing is a bit dumb. I didn't want Kerrigan to be super hard because if someone goes all ground a lot of their army can be taken down by the banelings and spine crawlers. I will try to improve, thank you for replying!
