Aeon Of Strife units
Goal of this project is to create multiple models of protoss units from the Aeon of Strife (A long period in Protoss history and a civil war among the tribes that started after the departure of the Xel'naga from Aiur. It is possible that Protoss were more advanced at the beginning, but towards the end they ended up being in somewhat postapocalyptic stone age. The models are meant to be from that late stage), which can be used in custom campaigns. If anyone wishes to join this project and make some models, they'll be gladly accepted.

Unfortunately I don't know any tutorial I'd recommend, because I learned it pretty much myself. But you can try searching, I think there surely are some.
However if you have any specific question (For example how do I change the model of a unit ? ...), I will try to answer it :)

do you recommend creating a unit from 0, or duplicating one, and then overriding the model with the files you provided?
i've tried the second, with no success. The unit is on the map, but it is black, and it acts like it was an halluciation and dissapear :P

It depends if you want to use the orginal unit too, or not. If not, then you can just change the original unit. If yes then duplicate it and duplicate all the things that should be different from the other unit, most importantly the unit's actor and in this case also the model. Model should be easy to change. When you have the unit selected in data, you just scroll down to the model section of the unit and click the main model (not the death model, or other effects) and change it to the one you want.

There's a lot of interesting potential in this idea, like modifying some warcraft 3 assets, but I guess that's more modelling than texture editing (In particular, mounting a protoss on the back of the huntress' panther and making it's fur look more bengalaas-y). I really like the spearman, it's a great looking asset

Aeon of Strife - Spearman
Spearmen were strong warriors who often served as hunt group leaders, because of their excelent tracking abilities and very good experiences .... Game unit - strong warriors with slow / high damage melee attacks and high health pool, since nothing like cloak existed in that time, they were more like juggernauts than stealthy assassins.
