Hello there guys and gals!
As I'm sure you've noticed, the migrations and updates we mentioned last week have been completed! Now, I know that this is quite a large change, and that there are items missing (I will address that in a moment) but on the plus side, things should be a little quicker, a little more organized and a lot easier to navigate from a project stand point. Take some time to navigate around and familiarize yourself. We have some general documentation on Project Creation here: https://www.curseforge.com/knowledge-base
Our primary goal with this migration, aside from getting the essentials completed before the holidays, was to get SC2Mapster on the latest codebase so that as the new year begins we can start properly addressing concerns, bugs, issues, etc from all of our communities without having to dredge through old code, out of date standards and a monumental amount of overhead.
That being said, some things didn't make it in the upgrade process. We're still evaluating some of the missing features and quite honestly, that's where you guys come into play. I've set up a Forum Thread over here.
Bottom line is, we want to be active and we want good solid communication. Try and keep it constructive - the good and the bad - but be honest and clear. We can handle it, and we want you guys to know we're listening.
If you have something that just can't wait, or a bug/site issue - please reach out to us on Twitter @CurseForge or ping me personally @MrFlamegoat. If you find something that's not mission critical, and you would just like us to know, we're always available at cfmoderation[at]curse.com - which reaches all of the core Community Team.
Feel free to leave a comment on this post, or head on over to the forums for a more in depth discussion. We'll be watching them all, and I'll do my best to respond to any critical concerns as will the other team members as we can.
Aside from that, I hope everyone has a great holiday if that's your thing, and if not - try and have a great week anyways.
Your Friendly Community Helper,
MrFlamegoat
The new site looks fresh and clean.
I have a question, maybe the option is on but I can't see it, how do I delete my own uploaded files?
Nice changes to the site!
It looks new and fresh, though I did have the same question as Alleyviper, the white is... really white.
I do hope a theme comes around to "Darken" it up. but as for the moment, its cool.
I'll head on over to the forum aswell, have noticed several things (and probably am not the only one). Minor things really, and maybe I'm just missing where its now...
Feel free to post over on the forums any little issues. Kind of the way this works is that we'll find the issues that multiple people have talked about or agreed upon, have a little pow-wow and decide given the amount of man power and time, what can we do, how quickly can we do it, etc.
Thanks for the positive vibes, even if there are problems!
it looks.. sterile, no offense .u.
Intended - CurseForge as it is now, is a stub site, where projects are stubs and just a location for development. We're aware that doesn't quite fit with SC2Mapster as a larger community, and we will be discussing out to alleviate those concerns into the new year :]
I'm sure you folks already got a lot of input .3. i don't use the site that much to know it inside-out
No worries! I'm collecting big and small - we need data. Regardless of whether its from site experts, or casual browsers. It's important we get feedback!
right, hope you get the site at least visually similar to old one before new year o3o if that's not too much to ask
Ah, as mentioned, the visual aspect is low on the priority list. The FAQ on the forum has been updated to reflect that.
Most of the devs will be with their families for the holidays, so we won't pick back up on full on development until after the New Year. I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but it's all I can offer.
Bugs and site breaking issues are still top priority, and we hope that s those appear we can get them fixed up relatively quickly.
fair enough, i guess.. although then your timing was wrong, should've waited 'till after new year to overhaul the sites '~'
You have exceeded your maximum upload limit of 4.77 MB. This limit is based on your highest performance on the site.
Do not let me upload more images of my downloads?
Noted! We're looking at matching the previous restrictions and limits.
Give us a little time - it's so close to Christmas I'm pretty sure people are already passing out from too much gingerbread and eggnog :]
I have one question how do we see the poll's we made?
Polls weren't brought over, but it's a feature that's up for consideration. No data has been lost, though.
ok thank you. :)
Very cool new style and new options.
Can I (personally) change the white background, for a darker colo?
Not at the moment and not sure if we have plans for themes right now. But as with everything - it'll go on my list of suggestions to bug the team about for when they get bored ;] - I know this is something that comes up anytime a community changes from light to dark, or vice versa.
It is all perfect for my taste (how little I use), but when you are a while becomes annoying. For the rest it gives a very new touch to everything =) Sc2mapster Powa!
Even if we can't get the dark theme, I still super appreciate the positivity! The team does, too! We're glad that so far things are looking good :] But if come across anything else, don't hesitate to let us know!
