Hello friends, ckknight here.
Previously, we haven't been tracking Curse Client downloads as something that would increment our download counters. This has now been fixed so that every download on the Curse Client will properly increment the download counters now.
Already we're seeing a _dramatic_ increase of downloads. It's really a wonderful sight to see how many users are really downloading my addons.
Note than from one refresh to the next, the download counts might not update, as there is heavy caching in place, but every download is still counted.
In no way, shape, or form are we "faking" our numbers, we try to be as accurate as possible.
ya i was having lot of erro's so i remove the curse and now i would like to reinstall but i don't know how.....
How about incrementing counters on libraries that are downloaded as embeds in an addon? Just an idea that might reveal more accurately which libraries are used a lot and which aren't.
Yes, Kallieen. But only on even Tuesdays that happen to be on a full moon. Note that Kaelten inadvertently loses his powers when this event occurs.
After this last week I'm confusing me with Kallieen too.... :S
Is it just me or does it seem like blackmoses has mistaken Kallieen with Kaelten ?
Still waiting for someone to come up with that 4Gb/s host for $30/month.
Hey, personally I don't care if the entire World of Warcraft subscriber base is pissed off. One, two, twenty, or 3 million pissed off people.
This is very well self evident, however if Curse Inc. & associated corporations are pimping out your hard work and labor without you taking a decent cut of annual revenue they make a year, I really dont know why youre so eager to jump to their defense over potentially thousands or millions of very upset players who didnt need need for this to happen on a patch day.
If you don't care, that's fine. But if the Corporation wants to eliminate a product that works to leave us with their piece of crap in order to maintain a monopoly (not to mention screw all the mac users) then you're not the person I should be pissed off at.
What I am pissed of about is the cheerleading that's going on for a corporation that couldn't give a crap about anyone- the end user, or even you developers who actually care about people's game play.
So be it, I'm out of here.
Hey, personally I don't care if the entire World of Warcraft subscriber base is pissed off. One, two, twenty, or 3 million pissed off people. I bet most of them didn't use my addons anyway. Addons aren't required to play the game, nor are addon authors required to make getting their products easy. If you really want your addons so badly and you want quick updating, write your own addons. Then if something breaks, you can fix it immediately.
one or two or twenty pissed off WoWMatrix addicts don't really concern me too much
okay so theres one or two or 20 pissed off wowmatrix addicts in my guild alone. so if you think that you have only pissed off one or two or twenty people you must be kidding yourself.
Multiply that one or two or 20 pissed off wowmatrix addicts by the amount of guilds there are on my server, then multiply that by the amount of servers there are on WoW.
Then you may understand how many people you have inconvenienced and how many "pissed off wowmatrix users" that hate your guts from the date of 14th April 2009.
Maybe you ought to think a little more larger scale, that is if your addon was worth downloading in the first place.
My signage stands.
Kiss my ass.
I write addons for myself first. If other people like those addons then they are free to use them. If those users have suggestions or ideas for improvement they are free to send them to me. However, I have no obligation to implement them, nor do I personally care how many people use the code I have written.
I have six released addons, and about 22 non-released addons. So, one or two or twenty pissed off WoWMatrix addicts don't really concern me too much. It is cool when people find my addons useful, but the entitlement that some of you users demonstrate rivals the WoWAce/Curse developer's so called arrogance.
Kaileen said:
And there's your Curse/Wowace developer arrogance right there. You think they give a crap about what their users want? Or just want to monopolize instead of cooperate and give us their garbage in return?
I can live without giving you a cent in donations Kaileen. Can you? Who laughing now?
/Signed.
Kiss My Ass.
*waves* Bye bye. Please be sure to let the door hit you on the way out.
PS..
You just got served. Kthx
Yea and does it tell you how many have uninstalled Curse client in the past 24 hours (Like i have) because it's a sh*tty product and doesnt work?
Buddy, im not alone in not giving another cent for the mess you and your developer aholes have done to the mac gaming community on the eve of a patch, as a matter of fact you can flame me all you want because i will never return.
WowMatrix was a far superior product and when it comes back i will be hoping they steal even more from you to finally put you arrogant pr*cks in your place.
You "tried" to destroy competition and then give us a crappy product and expect us to use it and call it ice cream from heaven.
For the mac gaming community and/or the people who hate the curse gaming client /sign here to tell ace and curse to kiss your ass.
Boycotted.
I have 2 questions:
1) At what time does the "today's downloads" counter reset? More specifically, which time zone?
2) Is the "today's downloads" counter accurate? It seems there's always been a discrepancy between it and the "total downloads" counter. For instance, if you came in one day and saw 9 downloads today, you could come back the next day, see 10 downloads today, but the "total downloads" only went up by 4. Was this a problem with the "today's downloads" counter, or was it what was fixed as part of your announcement?
Thanks a bunch for your work ckknight!
I knew that counter wasn't accurate!
Marsti, every single download.
