Diablo II meet Starcraft II by Egodbout
From the maker of Diablo: The Curse of Tristram and Zelda RPG comes another epic looking project, this time around a Diablo II port to SC2. Below is only a small preview of what he hopes to achieve with his map. As you can see, he uses some awesome 3D custom art from the original game, combined with carefully placed lighting effects to really show what Diablo fells like.
meh , ill buy diablo 2 for 20$ and play that....lol think it even comes with D1 and SC1... lol
This statement is what separates mappers from players very jaded response

Will there be custom models of the paladin, sorcerer, etc.?

Yeah, Ahli's "Diablo - Mortal Shroud" map.
Someone made a Diablo 1 map for SC2, it's almost exactly like it. I forget the name, but it should be the bar for these kind of ports.
Interesting.
ok i wasnt sure
first of all, this is just a Tech demo video
Its actuelly a big reboost of my Diablo: The curse of Tristram RPG with Diablo2 Titleset and 3D
i can confirm this video is NOT a fake and more comming.
this is bullshit ive been working on the d2 port for sc2 for over 3 months i am not happy heres mine http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/diablo-2-act-1/
@fate1990 I agree that it's "just" a texture, but I don't see anything wrong with doing it that way. It still looks amazing. Why make things more difficult then they should be?
You're right about it being a screenshot, but wrong about it being fake. I imagine he used screenshots as textures on the terrain. I would think just throwing 3d models on 2d screenshots would be silly, but I kind of like the effect.
This looks like a fake to me...
This maybe a screnshot form d2 used as texture.
