Popularity Boost by xenrathe
xenrate discovered that it was possible to artificially boost any map to the top of the Battle.net list. The process is really easy:
- Create a game with your map
- Open it to the public
- Quit and Repeat
Every time you do it, your map counter gets 1 played. This is not a good solution but it is virtually the only way to get your map off the bottom of the listing. My only advice is to use it wisely to promote your map, try not to abuse the system :)
1 Phoenix vs 200 Mutalisk by rrowland
You've probably seen the by HuskyStarcraft. Here rrowland made a better one: 1 Phoenix vs 200 Mutalisk, and ... guess who won ... the Phoenix of course :) Custom AI can sometime be really impressive!
Tutorial: 4 Requests by Beider
Beider decided to go over the Tutorial Request Thread and make a video explaining 4 of them. That's really nice of him! I hope you will enjoy the program.

3 hours ago i tried out how easily boosting is with the current map sorting system and i must say VERY EASY! xD
i took Shrink TD on page 4 and pushed it to page 2 within 10 minuntes. after i came back to the lobby after about 1 hour Shrink TD was on page 1 and i was able to play it with other without waiting for days. :D

Posted Jun 5, 2010I also used the popularity boost 2-3 days ago. I felt kind of bad, and a little silly doing it but I needed beta testers. Its too bad I accidentally clicked the post button on my thread here before I found out. I hope you forgive me for the spam.
It only took me a little while to get it to the second\first pages, too.

Posted Jun 4, 2010Only thing what makes that system somewhat viable is to let people manually boost their maps with bots as there is once retail comes, no chance to even manually bump map to top. Their popularity system etc no ascending/descending option makes their system so broken that they encourage botting.

Posted Jun 4, 2010Nah, I bet they will prevent that from happening in the retail release. It's one of those reasons why we need a beta, to find loopholes like these.
