Hello everyone. I have an idea for a total redo of StarCraft II and wanted to share it here to see if my idea would be of any interest to anyone.
It actually starts off with a change in the last cutscene in StarCraft Brood War. Kerrigan would continue pressing her advantage of the weakened factions at the last mission in StarCraft Brood War. The UED, the Dominion, and the Protoss would all make an temporary alliance in order to defeat Kerrigan. But the Zerg are too strong, cunning, and numerous, and the alliance knows that they cannot win this war through superior military strategy alone. So the alliance quickly ratchet up any and all biological and weapons military research in order to wipe out the Zerg.
Five years later, the alliance has nearly finished developing a virus that will wipe out the Zerg, but the Zerg have nearly wiped out the UED, Dominion, and the Protoss. So Mengsk asks for the aid of Jim Raynor and his Raiders to help protect scientists, research facilities, and colonists gathering resources to finally finish the development of the virus. When the virus is complete, the alliance attack Char and administer the virus to the Zerg homeworld, killing Kerrigan and the Zerg in Char, and causing another Zerg Civil War. The alliance is maintained to defeat any Zerg remnants.
Duran now has an opportunity to activate the hybrids that were planted throughout the sector in order to catch the alliance flatfooted, having exhausted their resources and energy in fighting Kerrigan for over five years. Duran starts, planet by planet, activating hybrids and then defeating other Zerg factions in order to prove that he is worthy of leading the Zerg. Duran does this, but he hybrids realize that they are being used by Duran and start revolting themselves. Duran has to change his plans, and quickly.
Zeratul, while aiding the Protoss clear up Zerg on a Protoss colony planet, catches a glimpse of a Protoss Zerg hybrid, just like the one he had seen before on Shakuras. Zeratul alerts the Protoss to this alarming news. The Protoss decide to keep the information of this hybrid to themselves, knowing full well of the research capabilities and complete lack of moral and ethical concerns that the alliance had in researching and creating the Zerg virus and other weapons. The Protoss ask Zeratul to go to a temple to meditate and commune with the Gods to see if there is any information as to what these hybrids are, who wanted them created, and for what purpose.
Zeratul discovers that there is another race that has dominated another sector and has been observing the goings on of this one. They created these hybrids and encoded their brains with behavioral modification that would force them to obey their creators. With this knowledge, Zeratul contacts the alliance and asks them to begin research on how to alter their behavioral modification to make the hybrids obey their orders instead of their creators. The alliance, having no moral or ethical quandaries in their research to defeat the Zerg and desiring the power of the hybrids for themselves, gladly start researching the hybrids behavioral modification.
That is my idea. Please feel free to critique anything and everything about my idea.
