You have to add site operation models and attach them to the origin. From there you can alter the position of the model in question. You can add the actor.creation event to get the SO linked.
I have re-skinned quite a few models using the data method as shown by Red's Tutoirial ( ). I am having trouble applying a texture to the Tosh model though. I tried several different custom textures as well as some in game ones, all which have failed to apply. Does anyone know why this specific model refuses an applied texture?
Eimtr, what I suggest is just duplicating the model. One model with the attachments via the data editor, and one with any other variations you might see fit. You can in turn, changer the model of a specific unit with triggers.
I have a model as a .obj file format, any attempts I make to convert it to .m3 fail. I have a feeling I might be doing something wrong. I would appreciate it if someone with more experience could take a look and see if they can properly convert the file. Feel free to publish the model as your own asset with due credit if you are successful.
Also, it would be awesome if my powers could destroy trees.
The purpose of trees are to block spell LoS. Without obstacles as such, psions would have a huge advantage in the game, or any ranged hero for that matter.
Yes, that is the plan. Attaching a model. I looked at your map again, and i'm having a hard time understanding how the 1st model you have is linked to the 2nd. The way it looks is that you based it off the primary unit and just used two offsets.
I am not using the attachment to do damage or anything of the sort. It is all for looks. I still have yet to look at your map again. I will get back to you with my updated results.
The model I am using is the leviathan tentacle, which does in fact have several attachment points. So I am trying to attach a model to a model. I'll take another look at what you did.
So I have created several SOAtachment models on a unit with SOoffsets. Is there a way to create a model attachment on a SOAttachment?
In other words this is what I have:
Unit
->Actor (SO Model Attachment)
- -> SOLocalOffSet
I want to create a SO Model Attachment on the actor that I create that is attached to the unit. Is this possible? I used this event to link them:
ActorCreation.<my actor>
Create
Rather than the UnitBirth Msg Type.
If anymore information is needed, feel free to ask.

This model will be used in Smashcraft if that is any more of an incentive for anyone to assist with this issue.

Models don't "push". There is something causing this. Possibly something like the "massive" attribute which destroys FFs and such.

I believe it has something to do with push priority. This field should be found on the unit itself.

I download the file from here: http://thefree3dmodels.com/stuff/characters/solid_snake/14-1-0-806
I attached the model to this thread as well.

I think he is referring to the hero icon. It's most likely a flag that has to be removed from the unit.

It looks very similar to what I am aiming for, but it seems you attached both models to the central unit. I am looking to attach a model to a model.
Looking at the attachment, I want to create a model on the "tentacle".
