it is "impossible" currently to make it work without duplicating the ability. If you check the other threads on this topic youll see I was one of the people that needed this badly, however I spent hours and hours looking over his ability. It puts the unit in a "global" var, it then checks this var to make them beam. Problem is, when a new unit is put on the map, it replaces the old one in this var. Thus the only way to fix this is to handle it 100% via triggers, or to duplicate the unit AND the ability (and it has way to many parts for that to be practical,)
well since rodrigo doesnt want to define what makes a map awesome and he is directly insulting maps at the top (indirectly) , of which i think hes refering to my map for e.g
I shall state my opinions on your maps. I think nexas word wars and debates fucking blows and its position in the popularity system accurately shows this because its not like this is some "unknown" map.Its been out there, its got exposure , PPL know about it and they dont care, you even try to cheat it a bit and borrow the name of a Very successfull map when u released nexas word wars. What do you have to say about that rodrigues? If you concentrated on making a game deeper than a type fest (aka glorifed flash game), you might have something to show at the top.
Dont get me wrong, ive stated avidly that i find the popularity system sucks, But dont come here insulting maps and expect everybody to be cool with it . Some will return the favor. Stick with saying the pop system needs overhall , Not this new argument of bullshit when its clearly at the discretion of the individual player on which maps are awesome.
Please watch yourself, he did not name a single map, HE HAS A RIGHT to say if he thinks a map is good or not, you went out and directly started trashing his maps because you dont agree with him, that is wrong.
Actually I had the FAQ as its own sticky, however Twinmold20 decided to delete it an add it to a "mix" topic which I never liked. Ill make this a project to make it its own thread and get it updated.
And even then he was able to reupload the mAp with fixes... So as long as you explain how the map works in the map, worst case you just fix up the map =D
overall these were fun to play once... and I can definitely see how a lot of people will enjoy them. However I dont think ill be playing any of them again... maybe bejwel a few more times but thats it
(tho Aiur Chef made me Laugh very very hard. but I dont see me getting home from class/work and looking forward to a completive/relaxing match of Aiur Chef you know?)
This is actually not a bad idea. I do agree with you, opening others maps help people learn quite a bit.
its how i learned everything about everything, sc1 editor, c + + , actionscript, c#, java list goes on and on. Only thing I didnt learn this way was sc2...as there were no maps at the time =P but yes, imo this is one of the best ways to learn that there ever was.
if the camera is locked..traceline is not what you want, tracelines is used when you want to find whats in the CENTER of the camera when you can move th camera, if you can shoot anything on the screen at any place, then things become much much easier, simply looking were the mouse was clicked can get you what you want.
Nope, those don't help :( The first doesn't cover continuous beams, and the second didn't really help either...
You need to combine both, the reason its no going away is you dont fully understand beams, thus you need to know the first tutorial first, the second tells you how to wait for the unit to be dead before the beam stops, both will help you just need to learn how to use the information thats out there to help you.
