Ok, since I have little to no experience in making SC2 maps I'll post this concept here for anyone to pick up. My first thought was Flash or Java game, but this might be better as a map/mod.
I have not found anything similar but if you do, please feel free to link to it.
SC2 - Hot-key trainer concept
A combination of a keyboard trainer and a SC2 build map. Once you set-up your hot-keys, the map takes you through several "programs" and levels of training. This can be done in many ways but i draw some inspiration from Unit Tester map from XGDragon. But this i how i would do it (if i had the knowledge).
1. A group of buildings for each race, at least one of each. To set your hot-keys on.
2. A control window to set program (race) and level.
3. A window to randomly generate a build/upgrade command. (without producing anything).
4. Tracking of errors and speed.
5. Tracking of hot-keys you know best and worst and train "the worst".
6. settings to exclude / include units and buildings ever used. (could be equivalent to the level system, like a check-box system).
Why a map like this?
• A quicker way to learn hot-keys than playing the game.
• A faster way to train the muscle memory and the less conscious act of making units/upgrades.
Issues
As a Protoss player I'm unsure how the build mechanics is best trained for Zerg. I would think Terran is similar to Protoss with the exception of more units producing structures. I'm also unsure how the Gateway / Warp Gate difference should be handled.
