The Galaxy Editor is great but it's not perfect! This is why I am making an official thread for you to express yourself. Just tell what you'd like to change in the editor!
Rules
Make it constructive, we are here to make a better editor :)
Do not hesitate to tell obvious stuff, what is obvious for you isn't for everyone.
You can be informal, just make sure that we can understand!
Tell all what you have in mind, from the smallest little thing that annoy you to the great but impossible idea you've got.
Reward
Since it's funnier to do things with a reward in mind, here is all what we can do.
1 month Curse Premium for each improvment that is being implemented! (You will have to PM me when it is done).
History
If you want to know the reasons behind this, please read :)
I have been talking to RodOfNOD on the IRC and he was whining because there was no water pathing in Starcraft 2. After thinking about it I realized that it can be obvious to him that Water is needed in the editor because it was in Warcraft 3, however it may not have been to Blizzard. I mean, they don't need it in the campaign, and it is not something you will say if you were asked about the missing functionnalities. So Blizzard may not know that it would be a cool feature!
Alright, I know this example is very bad to prove my point, as water is still obvious. Now what about those little things that could make our life so much easier
Double-click anywhere on the trigger window to make a new action.
Shift-Enter in the text-box when modifying actions to validate.
Galaxy Developers are not using much their editor and have a biased vision of it. As for the Campaign developers, they use only a small part of it and don't want to make complete different games with it. This is why we are the best ones able to talk about it and ask things.
We cannot have more than 4 dependencies when publishing a map. This is basically killing all the use of it. There are already 4 if we want to use the Campaign stuff. But let say we use only 2, we have only 2 rooms left!
The main use of the dependencies was for libraries. You want to use a bank compression library, and some lib that helps you making cool achievements and another lib for something else. You just can't!
I know the mods haven't been used like this, but it is because Battle.net publishing was not stable enough to be trustable. But now that the game is released I want to promote the use of mods, however it is just not possible :(
Also, I am having a bug, someone just sent me a copy of his US map, and when I try to publish it (i'm FR) it says there are 5 dependencies instead of 4. However when I open the dependency panel I see only 4. I suspect the french campaign is different from the english one and it counts as 2 separates.
When trying to remove one, it takes ages to check the dependencies. More than 500seconds!
Do you have some examples of your work in Javascript? I'm really interested :) You can read some of the JS stuff i've made on the blog i'm running: http://vjeux.com/
A simple thing would be to sort the lobby random like in Warcraft 3. And also display the map popularity. This way we know for sure which maps are being played a lot, but we can also see other maps.
I've been exploring Battle.net popularity on the EU servers (after they stopped resetting the ranking) and here are some first notes.
The popularity seems to work like this: it is 1 "point" per unique user playing the game the last hour. So, if you want your map to get popular, you have to fill lobby with other people than your friends :(
Also, many maps are using custom team layout (Personnalisé in the screenshot). However the bad news is when you add a new one, there's also the default layout. And the default layout is set by default when a lobby is created by double clicking the map. Result: there are two versions of each map, and the most popular being the fucked up one :(
As a conclusion, there will be like 10 played maps on bnet and all the others will only be forgotten!

A Game Variant tutorial would be really nice. It's really hard to do what we want with it.

It looks like there is an issue with people using adblock. I'm trying to find a solution for it to be well displayed.
It's in the front-page:

Open a Campaign map (open a map and click the campaign tab). And then you will have all the new models unlocked.
0
It's the top down shooter included in the campaign that they shown at the Blizzcon. My computer is not powerful enough to fraps it though :x

There are several cheat codes in this map.
