I think this is because the search time would be too long - so it lets you in to a lobby so you can see how many other people are ready to play, and start it earlier if you want - rather then the search, which won't tell you see how many other people are playing and will only start when you have the maximum about of players.

In other words, it just does that to help out maps that don't have enough popularity. They thought the search would make people playing low-popularity maps too frustrated by making them wait (in the dark) for a full game. (Especially if you have a low popularity map that can sport 10 players. Then you have to wait for 10 people to search for your map to play, unlike the lobby were you can start it with only four people or something)

I agree it could be more intuitive. I have noticed that SOMETIMES it will give you a message saying "There were no open lobbies for this map. Do you want to create one?" before going in to lobby mode, but it doesn't always. Maybe that is always supposed to show when going in to a lobby? If it gave a message like that every time, it would make it more intuitive.

dose that mean you can tell if there is peeps waiting to play in a room? on the Open Game List tab?

can u play on one map then warp to another 1 like walk in to a portal an warp to another map i dont mean like a campaign ether can it be done to play over lan or battle.net i just dont know how to say it right sry

i find most tut on making custom unit hard to understand i would like sume 1 to make a a tool that makes fully custom units+ powers an abilities if that can be made

It sounds kind of like you simply want a file that says "double click me to play my mod", I'm not sure if you can make a map file so it automatically opens SCII and runs the map with all the integration into bnet and such.

I never messed around with the WC3 AI much, but from what I've seen of the SCII editor, it has a few nice things in it such as "simulated APM" (which isn't really that well implamented) as well as the typical FSMs that permiate AIs in prety much all games currently made (and I hate it!... lol, but that's an entirely different matter).

@DJSplendid: Go Actually... if you've ever read a EULA, you'd know that you're basically "being allowed" to use their (or any company for that matter) software, and they may change or discontinue your service at any time, for any reason. Yes, you technically, physically own the magnetic plates (or polymer ?substrate? if you have an SSD), but technically, blizzard could legally forbid you from using their software just cause they wanna, and I'd be willing to bet, president asside, take action to have it forcibly removed. Not that any company would risk the fallout, nor spend the money to do so... And it goes without saying, cracking or hacking software goes against this EULA like opening most electronics voids the warranty. I run a CD crack on a lot of my older software, but regardless of how high a box you stand on, it's technically prohibited.

(FIX)ok i installed Galaxy editor v3.0.8 installer.msi an xnafx31_redist.msi an i start it up an it crashes on me im running vista an if you need more info let me kno all i had to do is run it as admin
