I've read through some of the tutorials, but I am wondering how I can create a basic flying unit from complete scratch.
I will start by making the model and texture with 3dsmax and photoshop and use art tools to import the model, adding some special effects for moving.
I wont need to be able to attack, but I assme I will need a...
Unit
Actor + range indicator actor (like sensor tower or point defense drone, shows up when selected)
Model
Flying mover
Abilities of some kind?
What am I missing?

Also I need to know how attachment points work, I assume they have something to do with bones, but the art tool documentation either isnt clear or I missed it.

What is the best way to choose a random model or actor for a unit to use?
I am making planet units and I don't want to have to make a unit for each one, simply change the actor/model

All it says is:
Import Failed Argument count error: ReadFixedString wanted 1, got 2
There isn't a line error.. as far as I can see.. Maybe I should try max 2008?

I am trying to import sc2 models to export to stl for 3d printing, but I am getting the "ReadFixedString wanted 1,got 2" error.
