this is a good start. it may take me a while to get back to you on this with more ?'s. i have entire engine as triggers so far. is that showing you connecting the data editor to triggers? if so ive never done that before, only worked with them independently.
Anyone here projectile simulation savvy? I want to be able to have a smooth flight arcs depending on liftoff velocity. I know how to find the x vel, y vel and slope in front and behind, but i cant make it look smooth. The object will fly up really fast or just stay airborne xD.
If anyone is good with simulating flight arcs let me know
Dont need an explanation per se. Just wondering where i can find tutorials on what these do (wiki doesnt seem to expIain it) cant find it in the tutorial that muse wrote up (old version maybe?)
Looking for a start on how to get this to work with the data editor:
1. Left mouse button will move the character at selected location.
2. Right mouse click will force the unit to face that direction then cause an attack.
Not looking for a full explanation but just a couple questions:
Is this possible? And if so where in the actor events does it check for left/right mouse clicks?
Id like to add maps to my posts for download. do i have to put the file somewhere online then link to it? or can i upload it directly through the post?
Using dialogs I had it so instead of the oneshot one time pay upgrades in the normal game, you can pay and research upgrades over time. They can be paused and progress will be saved. So far only the unit weapon upgrades are implemented. Its completely customizable just by changing the array variables. Check it out. Im putting it in one of my maps but it will not be done for some time and I'd like to see it in action. If you like it please feel free to use it.
Otherwise... comments? (sorry about poor video quality. you might be better off testing it yourself to see it better. im very new to fraps x_x)
I'm not worried about the editor being complex, i find it a fun challenge tbh and glad it can do so much. Makes the work more rewarding in a sense. I just read some random posts about the data editor with comments of people "waiting for hots". I dont want to twist words tho, i may have just misinterpreted what was said
However, i do think, maybe you are expecting a little much with this exercise. The WDE usually is a somewhat simple basic task, which may be extended at will by the participant.
This. your WDE #22 was perfect. It gave me an idea to take on and im expanding on that small idea to make it look cooler. General WDE ideas could work as both a learning experience for noobs like me and help spark ideas for the pros. and theres still always room for people to show off.
So far I'm reading that they are adding a modeling app and a blizz mod app-store. Are they improving the data editor to be more user friendly? or is it WAI. If there's a place to read this please link (I'm not doing so well on my own with Google -_-)
EDIT: I suppose if anywhere it would also be found in the forums. Are there patch notes here somewhere that I can stay updated?
i did. its hard to see but he actually turns light pink, then resets back to normal once he drops it. color the reset blend time is at a constant seconds tho. the change is mostly noticeable after he turns it in.
This is my first movie and attempt at the WDE. I'm very new to the data editor but wanted to give this one a shot.
I made it so the scv will get a debuff when holding minerals and lasts 15 seconds. The longer the scv holds the minerals it becomes more "hot" due to the minerals intense heat. when dropped the metal will slowly cool down and return to normal. If the scv hold onto it for too long he blows up.
Please be kind :P but im down for any constructive criticism.
