I am trying to figure out if this is possible also.
I've played multiple maps (micro trainers/build order testers/1v1 obs) where the timer (the one in the bottom left corner) resets when you reset the game.
I've got a special present for everyone just in time for Christmas!
I have completely overhauled Creep or Die! and have teamed up with The JaKaTaK to add the ability to practice zerg Step 0 of TheStaircase within Creep or Die!
In addition, I've listed all the major new features and changes within the OP. Get into the Arcade and search for "creep or die" to check it out!
Trying to figure out why my melee mod doesn't end when the computer player gg's.
I have all proper melee triggers set.
I've tried creating manual triggers based on: "Game - Player Any Player types a chat message containing "gg", matching Exactly" but it won't fire if the Computer player is the Triggering Player.
I've also tried inserting the script "bool AIGoodGame ( int player )" but that's not working either.
Anyone know how to solve this? Or has run into it and fixed it?
Thanks for the feedback. I've added the GG hiccup to my list of known issues and will fix that with the next release (probably shortly after Thanksgiving).
If it was too easy I'd recommend trying the 30 second timer and/or very hard/insane AI. I'm a low masters player (albeit terran) and ended up losing due to lost drones (from the expired timer) because of the attack waves and forgetting creep tumors.
The next release will allow for more options regarding the initial grace period (currently 6 minutes) as well.
****** Major patch 12/24/12 ****
This map is now available under the Arcade on Americas Server (soon to be EU after the holidays).
The map has been completely overhauled and I've added some fancy new loading screen and title page art:
In addition, and as you can see from the previous screenshot, I'm pleased to announce that I've teamed up with The JaKaTaK to add in { TheStaircase } Step 0 game mode as well as my original Creep or Die! game mode.
Several new features have been added including:
- supply blocks can now be enforced
- queen energy is now monitored and can be enforced
- scoring system revised
- a few achievements have been added
- several bugs removed
- you can now manually reset during the game
- new game end screen allows the user to see some game statistics
More items will be coming in the future but I'll be taking a break for the holidays.
Please post your feedback and bug reports here. Thanks!

In the spirit of the old Macro or Die! maps I've decided to create a series (or at least one) Creep or Die! map. The focus of this map is to help mechanically challenged Zerg players focus on spreading that creep! How does the map help them focus on that task you ask? Simple, spread creep or your drones will die!
Currently the map is single player only and can be found in the Arcade section in Battle.net.
The map uses melee settings and has the following features:
The player has a grace period to establish early game macro
After the grace period creep spread is enforced
Multiple difficulty levels:
Bronze: 7 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 120 seconds after; very easy AI; lose 4 drones each time the timer expires
Silver: 6 minute 45 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 105 seconds after; easy AI; lose 6 drones each time the timer expires
Gold: 6 minute 30 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 90 seconds after; medium AI; lose 8 drones each time the timer expires
Platinum: 6 minute 15 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 75 seconds after; hard AI; lose 10 drones each time the timer expires
Diamond: 6 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 60 seconds after; hard AI; lose 12 drones each time the timer expires
Master: 6 minute grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 45 seconds after; insane AI; lose 14 drones each time the timer expires
Grandmaster: 5 minute 45 second grace period to macro; build a creep tumor every 30 seconds after; insane AI; lose 16 drones each time the timer expires
Scoring system: Earn points by creating tumors and receive bonuses for chaining creep tumors without letting the timer expire
Please keep in mind the mission of this map is to help improve a players mechanics for online melee play. If that's something you're not interested in -then you probably won't get much out of this map :)
Creep or Die! [WCS Daybreak LE] is a modified version of WCS Daybreak LE. I've played a number of test games so far and would greatly appreciate any feedback and/or bug reporting here.
I am planning on working on other features after the holiday's such as: achievements, bonuses, and eventually multi-player.
Known issues:
Tab key needs to be changed for dialog box

Thanks for the reply hobbidude. I think I see what you're saying about saving the values into an array. However (and forgive my ignorance here) I'm not entirely sure how that will solve the issue I'm working with.
Basically here's the scenario:
- After 6 minutes of game time a timer starts for both players (5 minutes == 300 seconds)
- If a player builds an expansion then it restarts the timer
- If the timer expires then the player loses half their workers and the timer resets
...
And that's it.
The issue I'm running into (again ignorant) is that when creating a timer, I don't see how I can create it specifically for one player. As it is, there's just 1 universal timer that resets if either player builds the expansion. The timer creation triggers don't have any mechanism (insofar as I can tell) to specify the trigger is only applicable to player 1 or 2.
I'm definitely open to any other suggestions, ideas, or elaboration if the array setup is the way to go.
So I'm working on a 1v1 melee-mod map and am trying to set up separate timers for each player. And then if that player performs certain actions it will reset his/her timer.
I can do this for 1 player no problem...ez pz. The issue I'm facing is that the timer is universal and so both players have the same timer. This makes me sad :(
Hello, I did a few searches but couldn't find an answer so I've decided to pose the question here.
I'm trying to create a custom unit that has a high speed but that can't turn right around and go the opposite way (think watching an F-16 at top speed and how they have to change directions). I also want to make it so the unit doesn't stop moving so that when you move-command to tell it to fly to a spot it will fly to that spot and slow down but keep moving in a straight line.
With that said, I've been unable to do either of those two things ('turning rate' is somewhat useful but doesn't really do what I'm trying to do for turning & 'unstoppable flag' doesn't really do what I thought it would) and would appreciate any help from some of the more experienced community members.
Quick recap - how do I:
1) create unit movement that requires a flying unit to arc around to turn
2) create a flying unit that's always moving (though can slow down)

Hi there! We are needing a reputable person to publish our Zerg Mechanics map to the EU server by popular request.
Please send me a PM either here, TL or on bnet (mythandier.648) if you're interested.

No. That would be a pretty stupid oversight on my part. The 4 standard melee initialization actions are there.
