I duplicated the standard BC model, and replaced it with the one for the Hurricane, BattlecruiserHurricane.m3. However, now it does not fire its weapons when I test the map. I'm still a huge newbie at this so I'm just trying to get a feel for everything before jumping into making my map. Can someone help me with this?
Maybe some more "Dungeon Manager" themed games, where one has to manage their minions, traps, and so forth(maybe take it in a different direction than the Hive Keeper project). Perhaps something along the line of D&D where (x) number of players must control their heroes, while another player attempts to stop them, with monsters, traps, and so forth. I also think a lot more can be done with the "Merchant" style of maps where certain players are charged with supplying others with units, spells, heroes and so on. I also think that the starship combat variety of map of which star battles is currently the best representation could stand to be improved.
When one considers it from this perspective, it actually does present itself as a logical system. I suppose I was only considering the most basic definition of "maps" - e.g. something along the lines of Nexus Wars, which A. I can't see anyone paying for and B. Is ridiculously easy to re-create. If one considers that maps would be more along the lines new games in their totality - I suppose something as competitive and popular as a well made DOTA remake could be included as well- would be sufficiently unique and entertaining to warrant payment.
It seems to me like such a system(one where the most popular/polished maps are sold to players) would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to implement or would not be successful if implemented. Assumedly, they would wait until maps were popular on the ladder, remove them, and then add a download onto a separate menu for purchase.
Are people really going to pay for maps with such a plethora of available alternatives? What will stop people from simply making derivatives of the map in question? Would maps be deleted for too closely resembling existing ones?(e.g. if Blizzard released Blizzard DOTA for a $4.99 fee, would they delete maps like SOTIS etc. for being too similar? Or if Star Battles was added to the list, and I were to create, say "Ship Conflict" which closely resembled the aforementioned title, would it be removed?) Has Blizzard released anything to date with their plans?
Both videos were very hard to follow due to the quality- very hard to see what is happening. Also, I'm a total newb so it's hard to follow the difference between the old editor and the new. I'm not trying to complain, but could you point me in the direction of a written guide? (Saw a wiki is on here now, going to check it out)
I'm new at the map editor, and I'm wondering how I would go about this. Could someone walk me through the triggers for making a barracks auto-spawn marines?

If by "new battlecruiser" you mean the model, I just used one of the unused ones compiled in the editor ;)

Thanks for the help btw

Neither. I expected it to use the BC's laser's in some respect, but no.

Sigh... I didn't even think of that, and to be honest, I don't know and don't know to find out. To the wiki!

Sorry about that, my mistake then.

I'm leaning towards the possibility that self is a troll.

I haven't played yet, but I assume you meant Marine Corps. I'll check the map out when I have the chance.

Noob here.
It is currently on the "Agria" texture set. How would I change this?
