so is it possible to make a ban computer? i mean, we're all assuming that we play off only one computer. but sometimes, i got to my friends house and play it on his computer. what if he has a modified MPQ on his computer and i play it? does that instantly red-flag my account? lets say i had a secondary computer with an MPQ rigged with every cheat and advantage hack known to the SC2 world and let some fool play on it without him even knowing, would that instantly ban them? checksums aren't just a blind comparison of an assortment of numbers, it can tell you which section doesnt match, or if it really is only the intro that was changed, for the purpose of documenting each type of hack out there. a Local install of SC2 isn't specific to anybodies account, so if you wanna change it and play offline, do so for all you want. you could even have two separate installs on your computer, or split between two computers. i'm not implying to make a separate cheat computer, but if you wanna experiment with friendly hacks, like wallpapers, or voice changes, and other such things, i'd recommend a second installation. you don't even have to re-download the client, just copy-pasta the whole folder. Just don't play online, or feel free to bet that account on it.
Every [unofficial] cheat is a hack, but not every hack is a cheat.
