I Tried to make a colonist with rifle . I connected each marine bone to colonist's bones, but i had a problem with textures. So i tried to put colonist meshes on marine bones , but my old pc can't handle that graphic work :). I failed.
If i understood you need to close gate with a button ( close gate). I made it in my mod terran supapower, but only for a kind of gate (destructablegate) and only in "horizontal". Now i don't remember but you have to modify unit tag . Select gate unit (lowered-open) and click unit tag , copy all selections from a closed gate unit tag.
Ok for blood and explosions ... I'm working on a new marauder death model and i have another prob: How can i do an objects disappear effect? During a blast you can see pieces shooted away for a millisecond and then they disappear (in original marauder model) . In my model they last longer and they don't disappear in a similar way.
A Tutorial to create units and wireframe icons.
I know i can start with the previewer . I isolated the model (without ground) i created a custom portrait (80x80 for the unit icon and 144x144 for the wireframe). I pressed Stamp button and imported jpgs (screenshots) in photoshop but then i'm a bit lost. How can i create a black and white effect similar to the wireframe icons ?
In 3dsmax i get this error when i import a model previously exported with m3 plugin:
Transforming bones...
ERROR# Bone animation failed!
No ""findItem"" function for undefined
Set up bones bindpose
Set up bones base pose
With sc2 original models it doesn't happen, only with exported one.
My 3dsmax 2010 is updated to last hotfix.
I can show you how to export animations via skype video stream if you want.

Problem with exporting animations from 3dsmax 2010. Is there a step by step tutorial (only for exporting models+animations from 3dsmax)? I have already tried older versions of the exporter.

How did you solve the marine animations import problem? When i import in max the model has only 2 animations .

I use version 1.8 but with 1.7 was the same. Anyway the script export well now.

I found a problem in exporting Death Eviscerate animations
Also the human corpse ( the piece of meat and bones ) isn't exported well
