posted a message on Make Reavers shot scarabs without training them

Sounds like you want to create a new missile for the reaper.

This tutorial is not exactly what you are looking for, but might help you understand how to create a launch effect and missile which will be needed to make it shoot other projectiles. When you've created the effects and missiles, simply go to the reapers' weapon and link the launch effect to it.

Why don't we make a sticky thread/FAQ about the video games industry? After all, there has been 3 or 4 threads about this matter lately, so I assume a lot of people are interested to know more about it, if not willing to join a video games company directly. That would be better to gather all our feedback/experience about this in a single thread rather than creating threads weekly, right?

That's a brilliant idea! I've also noticed myself that many people around here are confused/worried about the game industry and how to approach it. I'd love to have a guide here on mapster, that explains how to take your SC2 development to the next level.

posted a message on Scorp's recruiting!

All positions have been filled. Check back at a later time for new positions.

This project is not gonna be yet another abandoned project, nor will it's development last forever

    Who are we?

I've recently started working on a new project of mine, and are looking for active mappers to join our crew. We currently consist of two people, and we cover most aspects of the editor, however, we do need your help to improve, and speed up the development progress.

What kind of map is this?

I will not reveal too much to the public as of yet, so if you want more information than whats seen here, please PM me or add me on skype nicklasah.

Our current project is a 8-player raidbased ORPG, using usual MMORPG mechanics, aswell as new and unique mechanics.

    What are we looking for?

We are looking for active and experienced mappers that can overcome hard tasks within the editor. I am working 40+ hours a week on this project, so you gotta be somewhat active in order to follow the development speed.

    Advanced Triggerer

We need a triggerer to assist me with advanced systems within the trigger editor, such as party, guild and item/loot systems. You will also get to program various interesting boss fights in co-operation with me.

What do you get out of it?

You will be credited according to the amount of work you do. If you contribute a lot to the project, you will get same amount of credit as we do. If not, you will still be credited for the amount of work you have done.

    How do I join?

If interested, PM me or add me on skype nicklasah

I was reading about UDK at their website and found this link. It's in some weird language though, so a translator such as google translate will be necessary.

posted a message on LoLPro.com What you think?

To be honest, I don't think it will be any hit. Both solomid and mobafire have been there for a long time, and are sites that every LoL player has bookmarked. It's way too late for Curse to establish a similar site.

I am in the exact same situation, but all of the stories keep me away. I think I will stick to sofware development until I have enough knowledge/experience to either start a company myself, or join a small one. I believe you will have more influence in a small company than in a big one.

posted a message on Ever wondered about your career choise?

I still havent started educating as anything yet, and wonder if programming would be fitting, as I do enjoy creating stuff. However, I do not want to end up as an asocial, fat monkey with low payment and long workdays of mindless typing on a keyboard. I've also thought about educating as a 3d artist, as that would be a good way to be creative aswell.

I should also note, that the game industry is very weak where I come from, so it will most likely not be game-related.

Since I have no clue what to do, and little experience in either job, I'd like to get some advices from people who have experience with one (or both) of the jobs.
