yah can't because the space under the bridge is an elevation with a see through texture. when it comes to bridge designing I found that its either or.... either it's eye candy you can walk over or under. You can use a bridge doodad and modify it's height between 2 points however units can cross over it. you can be creative and create a blockade or broken section like the korhal maps in the game...
but when it comes to game play does it really matter if you can move under a bridge... that's not gonna be a deal breaker. You may be able to create something in 3DS max but yah probably don't have the money to buy it and the time to learn it unless you can get you hands on a student version.
Hello, I was wondering if there was a method to allow vikings to land on cliff level zero? I know when you uncheck a units placement requirements that you can place it on level zero and move it around however you can select units on level zero to target, however I creating a top down fighter with vikings in it in a city land scape. I was going for a star war / fifth element city theme with multiple levels of traffic etc. I can create an awesome effect in which your flying through an urban jungle of sky scrapers so to speak with roads civilians and other doodads in the lower dimension.
Ultimately I want to create a third viking mode where you alter your height to ascend changing the camera angle to 90 degrees, descend to 55 degrees and landing capabilities to land on cliff 0 where my roads etc are.
if you can redirect me to a thread or video it will be helpful.
awesome I am looking forward to this one I have been actually experimenting with combining korhal buildings with cliff levels and other doodads on a grid system... this map can be for a top down air fighter game in which its pvp air combat with vikings wraiths pheonix's etc. I am going for a fifth element... starwars corisant feel
I have to admit... avernus is a weird tile set to use for this theme... the space platform ties aren't working for me... Tyrador or Marsara textures would work way better with textures like rubble.... I was originally going to submit ruined city theme... but that won't work with avernus... I'll think of something.... it looks like your map is going to be full of abandoned space stations without that much diversity...
cant you simply add 2 additional cliff types and textures in the data editor if you really like a particular map in the data editor under terrain texture sets...
has any body thought of making a custom ui that interacts with the custom buildings.... like for an rpg.... you can have a beacon in front of the door that the unit has to stand on to activate the interface... then a custom shop (full screem) screen pops up with options in which you can buy supplies etc... I am thinking of doing this... with a com pick of the merchant....a pic and title of the shop and a menu with pictures of items you could buy... robs guns you can buy weapons and ammo.... at a bj's clam shack restaurant you can buy food items that can up your life... doc upgrades your armor and tech etc...
