Im trying to get unit issue order my custom ability, but for some reason it doesnt show my ability in the issue order trigger ( also noticed various other abilitiesi missing there ). Whats this about, how do I fix it?
Data problem:
I want to make my spell only be able to target units, but I havent found a way to do this...I use effect target, but it always allows casting the spell to the ground even if there is no unit nearby....
Don't know what to say about this "new" system.
It could work, but I still can't believe it.
The problem with the old system was, that when the maps were at the top of the list they couldn't be taken down, so basically its now the same.
When the first page is full, everybody will join the first page, so you still can only play maps showed on the first page, so how is this system better?
This system is the same shit since its always like: 1. Page 2. Page 3. Page.....
Is the array big enough for it to fit the value of triggering player there? And have you defined the unit type before, since you need to do that before that trigger in order it to work.
example.
create variable. Units[15] = no units
Map init -> Set variable Units[1] = marine, Set variable Units[2] = marauder
it should work if you do it like that...
OH AND JUST NOTCED. Why are you using triggering unit things there. THERE IS NO TRIGGERING UNIT if you use dialog item!

Started working on chapter 2. It will propably have more cinematics and more epicnes.
I also have a plot somewhat planned out, so I guess ill try to go for a cinematic series for now and try to build up some abilities that I can later use if I want to create a game from this.
Well I tested the map. The system has potential to be good and useful for some maps (probly campaign maps).
But its still pretty ugly and needs improvements.
Suggestions:
make only the choise buttons display when you need to make choise and maybe add a text what the hero is going to say to the tooltip
the map started lagging after a while so I looked the triggers (remove the evey 0.0 second THINGY! the camera will follow the unit when you aply it just once...)
and naturally if you want to use the system in full scale, I would try to improve the triggering using action definitions or something like that enabling you to make the triggers faster.
Join the adventure with goku firebat! Goku firebat travels to planet char looking for kerrigan, but how will the fight end? Who will triumph to be the strongest?....
ps. My attempt of going cinematic (DBZ style). I guess its far from perfect, but I couldnt record sounds from the game so I just added some music to it.
hehe I was also suprised when I first encoutered this. I think there are some tutorials that might help figuring out players lobby possition...so use search
The main problem for this for me would be how would you make the UI. Not really the triggers, but how would you manage the stuff to fit on the screen and look good at same time.
I would like to see a picture of what you plan on doing with the UI before proceeding further (the text in cards shouldng be small IMO and there should be several cards on the screen without giving away complex look).
Im not really 100% happy with my current card game UI. but I had to go with it tought, since I cannot use abilities via dialogs (or change the cursor to look like you would cast a spell)....
So before proceeding, think about how you want the game to look (Ill try to help you with triggers and stuff probly, I just want to see a picture first...)

Chapter 2 is going quite well. Its already around 2-3mins cinematics and all I need to do now is the ending! Should be out by the end of the week.

The bad thing is you have to remake everything? Not sure how the UI thingy works, but I would expect you dont need so many dialogs anymore...

Maybe its the same event as checking the box? not sure tought, its just my guess

I made the laser just by using diamondbacks charged beam model.
I will probly use it on some map, not the way it is. But I will post more stuff once I figure out what im going to do.
