it is exactly as you say, we do maps for fun. Is it fun if someone just tells you what to do? I think it will most likely just feel like a job if you do it at someone elses terms.
but if you get enough compensation, it still might become worth it to do stuff for someone else.
I dont think these kind of projects are something you should invest your money in. Couple reasons
No matter how skilled the map maker is, its impossible to say if the map will be great
If you wan to make a large scale map it wil take loooong to do alone, even with multiple people it will take long
So based on just those two things I think it will be very likely you wont get satisfying results for your money. Any reasonable mapper should chage atleast 10d/h IMO, not worth it otherwise -_-....So only if you are RICH you should consider these kind of things.
Also if you want minimaps/games designed that might be a different thing too.
lol why would I be amazed. Portal 1 was released ages ago and inspired to that I made something similar to your map in wc3 (it was AoS with portals and you could shoot missiles through them)....I know, we can only wonder where I get my ideas from.
There should be some difference performance wize with pick each integer and for each variable or whatever its called....
"Ah I never knew that, but for best habit forming one should always still use While loops."
Why the fuck should they? For loops are super convinient for some cases if they can match performance of while loops (atleast faster to make and probly better to maintain too).
There seems to be some room to improvement. You could add stuff to variables and then use them from there...and I would use loops or action definitions to do most of the stuff.
you could do something like
Pick each integer from 1 to 14
modify tmpint +1
create unit for picked integer at (region[tmpint])
or something like that. I wouldnt say it would be more optimal, but easier to modify and read atleast. Dunno if I can give better advicement since there are so many actions there dont wana try to do them all. Loops and action definitions are your friends!
+1. Allthough Im not big fan of creeping. Leveling heroes to creeps is quite same as macroing in sc2 (atleast it feels as boring). I really hate it that sc2 have so many "useless" units like carriers etc...Its fun for a while, but I knew I bought sc2 just for custom maps and not the melee....(and look how many tears that brought me...)
lol that doesnt look anything like that at all....well I guess your pick of "scene" was horrible so you couldnt make it much better. Since charecter sellection....I wouldnt even call it a scene....

to run action definition, just create new action in your trigger and search the name of your action definition.
