just fix the damn custom game system! Only good thing about the system is that you can invite people (wc3 you had to type the games name) and thats it!
Pff...I managed to get my map 10 games/h today. Thats quite an achievement even tought I had to bump my map playing solo couple of times t_t.
Anyway I think it was quite fun. Still has some bug and major stuff to be fixed. Hopefully I can do something tomorrow and maybe upload some video material...I just hate the game mode system SO MUCH. I cannot understand how blizzard has managed to fuck up the bnet so badly, the "custom mode" is always standard when you create a game and I have failed so much when creating the game mode since its made so damn hard (I will improve it someday when I got more energy).
Stuff to do:
- Improve loading screen
- Remove unit when player leaves (even the fucking player leaves event is bugged GRRR)
- Make the game mode system more reasonable (even tought its blizzards fault this is hard to do)
And whatever people say about balance of the heroes. I think they are quite well balanced on 1v1. Even tought there hardly is anyone better at the game than me, it doesnt matter what hero I play I usually win...might just be me...
The map wont probly be at 5th page for long, It still has some things that need improvement. But if you want to test it now would be your chance.
Aww man...I was really hoping I could use this for something (especially the hotkey thing). But if its really that way I might not be interested on making a game around this system. Any idea what causes the lagg when using hotkey pressed event? I tought it would be a bit different if you use it for abilities and not movement.
edt* Im really dissapointed in blizzard if they dont make a system that allows users to create laggless custom UI....RFASFAS. Daaamn youuuu blizzaaaaaaard, whats the point in adding functions if they cant be used to multiplayer maps, which are like 98% of custom maps.
there was actually a map in hiveworkshop that I used as help creating my minimap. I cant find the link now, but there are some maps you could take a look at if you want to create similar systems.
Yes...hotkeys are done with triggers. I dont know how much the delay will affect with spells (will it be totally unplayable or not?), anyway only way to do custom hotkeys in custom UI is to use triggers. And if you would use data editor to make several hotkeys, then you would need bunch of same type of abilities with different hotkeys :/.
and by events, I mean trigger events...I will use the system anyway and see how it works.
Looks pretty good. Is this EU or USA? I like ff so much that I would be willing to give this a shot :).
The terrain doesnt seem too amazing, but its decent.
The dialog system looks great.
Some abilities looked really great. I like when bosses do some really flashy attacks.
The music seemed really boring...normal sc2 music? I think you should really consider finding some freeware music to use for battles. For me ff music has always been a big thing, so many epic songs and it makes you wana fight again just to hear the music (probly impossible to find that kind of epic music tought).
Hard to say anything more, since I havent played it yet.
Just get working with the map....its easier to comment/give feedback when you have done something. No matter what the idea is, then map can turn good or bad depending how you manage to implement the ideas.
It is recommended to not use screen button as that's their premade function for use mostly in campaign. It has no abilitiy to detect player. You can use dialog item - button instead
True dat. I just kinda liked how they look, so would be nice to use them (and the callback function kinda saves some time + flashing). Of cource you can even change dialog button apearances if you just want to play around....thx for responses.

I have some ideas for maps, but I really dont wana do anything like others do all the time (td's, aos....). I will propably do something overly complex again.
I mainly wanted to make custom UI, because the hotkey thing can be super usefull for some things, and the minimap is needed for lots of things too. The skill tree might not be super usefull, I guess it would be cool for some RPG type maps and I might do something similar...who knows...If I dont have ideas I usually just work with the first thing that comes in mind...wheter its good or bad...

That didnt do much. I could open the other map, but it didnt show anything other than terrain (might be because different country than yours?).

I would like to see a tutorial abouth homing missiles. I know you could do it with setting x and y velocity, but I just cant quite figure out how....

The minimap is done by moving the image, its too big to show at the dialog window (I screen shot picture of the map).
The hotkeys are just using Key pressed event and then you can check conditions on what spell you have on specific slot -> run ability trigger
