i want to run a trigger that runs if the energy of the unit you selected changes
however, i cant find the proper event type - if i pick "unit energy changes" i have to pick which unit, and there is no option for "selected unit" or anything like that
anyone know a workaround for this? ive run into similar problems a couple of times already
for my map i have units shooting missiles that dont always hit and deal damage in a small splash area
the missiles travel kinda slow, so it happens a lot that two units take each other out simultaneously
however, sometimes (not always it seems) when a unit dies after firing its missiles, those missiles will not explode - no exploding animation, no damage, etc
im thinking maybe there is some kind of validator hidden somewhere that checks if the unit that fired the missile is still alive, but i havent found it yet
ill upload it again when its done. basically im still working on a Z mod (Z being the old 1996 RTS by the bitmap brothers)
i wasnt really satisfied with my first attempt so i started over, will upload it to my maps as soon as everything works as i want, prolly early next week
no matter what movement type and values i try, i cant get rid of a slight "drop" effect at missile launch for my missile weapon
meaning that even if i throw the missile upward it will first drop a little bit lower and then start its upward motion
is there any way to get rid of this annoying effect? basically i want to make a mover that will "throw" a ballistic missile, ie it will start faster and start with a little bit upward motion and then hurl towards its target

@ chroyst - the turret doesnt have its own model as far as i can tell, thats the problem. its included with the siege tank model

all the weapons in my map can shoot while moving, so thats not the problem
maybe this is a general issue with the attack redirect ability? but i guess there is no other way to make units shoot out of a vehicle?

solution found: turns out it had to do with gravity

its the troop transport with the load bunker ability and the attack - redirect ability as i said
you can make it yourself in 30 seconds

i made an APC unit that can transport units, and these units can shoot out of the vehicle as well
i gave it the attack - redirect ability along with the bunker - load ability
now the units can shoot out, but they only do it once the vehicle stops, furthermore the "attack" button is disabled while the vehicle moves
any thoughts what might be causing this?

whats also confusing me is that if i make a certain mover and try it out with different missiles i get completely different outcomes
what values of the missiles influence how it moves?

i just realized i could just hit ctrl-a, selecting all units doodads points and everything, delete it, and copy everything over from the new version
then i deleted all the triggers and copied them all over from the new version as well
voila - it works again
still curious how i managed to mess up so bad tho :o

i somehow completly f*cked up the data in my map while trying to build a custom missile attack
now ALL units attacks, even units i never touched, only shoot from the base of the unit
i have an old version of the map saved where that is not the case, however if i revert to that i would lose hours of trigger and terrain editing
any ideas on what to do?
