    Can anyone confirm it only records 1 hour at a time? I've done some testing and could swear it added more.

    Also I just noticed the hour played on my map DROP by 2 hours? wtf.

    Are the hours played rolling over a week or something?

    Yeah I know you can do it on click, or even the method I'm currently using which involves inventory items. But they are both a bit flakey and not ideal.

    I'll try with the mouse move event first since the abilities i'm using it for aren't the sort that are used often, so it might be allright.

    Actually on that note, is it possible to use an inventory item from a trigger? If so what happens if that item was an ability item that requires a target? Will have to see if that is possible.

    Yeah, I'm going to give it a go and see how it works. Most of the time all mouse tracking will be off.

    It's annoying that we can't initiate targeted abilities from triggers, would save the need to do this at all.

    Hi all,

    I want to add some custom interface buttons that let you use some abilities. So you click on a dialog button and are prompted where to cast a spell.

    As far as I know this isn't possible without using the new mouse movement event. There used to be no way to initiate an ability from a trigger where it would prompt you for a cast location.

    So if I do this with mouse move events (per player) is it going to lag lots? I can turn the mouse move event on/off as required, but worst case being a 6v6 game there is technically a possibility that 12 players will be using this type of ability at the same time (probably unlikely most of the time).

    Thoughts?

    Hey guys, back last year when I was working on my map I ran into issues with a custom GUI. Namely you couldn't add a button/image somewhere and have it prompt you for a target of an ability.

    Has anything changed in this regard? Is hit now possible.

    I suppose now that we can get mouse coordinates it should be possible that way, but has anything else changed?

    Hi Everyone,

    I have finally had a chance to whip up a promo video for my custom game, Battle for Skyfortress.

    This is the first video and just highlights the game features, I will be putting out a quick update soon with some improvements including an increased level cap and then I will work on a How-to-Play video which will go into more detail, and finally individually Class promotion videos.

    Hi all,

    I have just uploaded the map I have worked on for a long time, that has been helped along by many on this forum.

    You can find it online under the name Battle For Skyfortress on the US server.

    It supports up to 6v6 players, makes use of the existing hero units however I have created custom multi-level abilities for all of them, and also custom switch-able weapons.

    See how this goes, any feedback you can provide would be appreciated. I have developed it in such a way that it can be included as a mod in any map and you instantly have this game type to play, so I will look at making this available in the future for people that just want to design maps. I wasn't planning on releasing it, but decided I might as well since it's already quite polished.

    Anyhow, the fact of the matter is, it is possible to have a great system without the need for custom game names, and there are a few ways to achieve this. Blizzard may or may not be able to work it out, it's very common that server lists are the weakest point of games which is unfortunate, but I would be surprised if they weren't well aware of peoples complaints by now, so it just depends what they decide to do about it.

    Thanks for the feedback. I don't agree on the rating stuff, but each to their own on that.

    Regarding the HOST, the main reason I did that is because occasionally you are going to get a host that you simply don't like, or that hosts games and somehow ruins them by leaving all of the time/being abusive or whatever. This allows good hosts to get a repore and you can end up with good groups of players to play with, since they are all looking for the good hosts.

    That's the theory anyway, either way it's not really a negative thing if you do show it, even if you don't make use of it (providing there is enough screen real estate etc)

    I think I'm a decent play but I don't spend enough time to be anything special. Also most of my time is spent in 3v3 or 4v4, which is a much more difficult game than 1v1, and it doesn't matter how good you are, mistakes by your team mates or yourself are much harder to recover from than 1v1.

    But I prefer to spend more time modding than playing in general :)

    Fair enough. To be fair it's pretty hard to expect blizzard to deal with all of these sorts of problems when it's your computer and not their software. You are generally going to be better off asking the community for suggestions first.

    Yeah I noticed they had those, so obviously they planned to use them for something. I would be surprised if 1.2 doesn't bring some changes to the list.

    Some good ideas there, some of it I already had in mind and wanted to improve including some other things that were suggested on the blizzard forums, just didn't get a chance as yet.

    I'm going to wait and see what 1.2 patch brings, hopefully it's not too far away!
