I'm attempting to play with the map editor, I think I'll be giving up here soon. No programming background and none of this makes any sense to me, can't even give a civilian ghost attack animation, grrrrr... Anywho, with me unable to make maps I need some suggestions on maps to play. Me and my friends enjoy RTS games but we enjoy the story and whatnottery of single player. Essentially what I am looking for is a multiplayer campaign, or at least some multiplayer maps that encourage some actual team strategy. Any of those exist yet? I see all kinds of crazy stuff going on here, hard to believe someone's not doing something so simple as a multiplayer campaign.
Pretty sure Fropper already nailed it. If a game auto starts when full, the thought is that the last person to join had no time to check things out, no say in whether or not to start, therefor, long delay. If it's started manually, it is assumed that the host at least had a chance to make sure everyone wanted to start. Summary: Auto start= 30 seconds manual start=10.
Me and my friends enjoy strategy games, but some of us aren't terribly good at them. Anywho, I loved playing through the wings of Liberty campaigns and I think it'd be awesome if there was something similar that could be played with more people, say 2-4. I noticed that all the campaign maps for single player were included in the map editor and I considered trying to mess with those, add a couple more start locations and/or give shared control of units with additional players, but I can already see that this is going to be a problem with transitions. Not sure how one map would transition into the next in multiplayer, what would happen on the ship? Blah blah blah and so on. Anywho, I'll probably mess around with the map editor myself and try to make a custom three player campaign with sidequests for each player (different quests for each player) that upgrade their units or give them more that they can use. However, I was looking at this site and I see some crazy ideas here, a lot of them are very difficult, and it strikes me as completely crazy that someone hasn't already stared on a multiplayer campaign idea.
Long story short (too late I'm sure). What I want is for someone to point me to a multiplayer campaign, or at least something I might be able to play around with until I manage to struggle wit the editor long enough to make a few levels of my own.
Hey, this is a really cool concept. Seemed a bit slow from the video, but I'd have to play to know for sure. Is it public on US yet? And is the adventure mode going to have multiplayer options? Always looking for a good map to play some co-op with friends.

Here's an idea, and it hasn't been done yet for SCII. Do spellcraft for starcraft. Spellcraft Strife for WCIII was one of the coolest games around...
