I'm a fan of seeing large bright vibrant bars laid vertically to display health/energy/mana.
Why?
Once I get used to the game I can use "peripheral vision" (in a sense) to easily monitor my units health + energy/mana while clicking and controlling the unit. And because the health bars are not in a corner my eyes don't have to wander to that spot that is otherwise useless.
This also leaves the bottom open for things like ability bars, chat boxes, inventory boxes, etc, so it's not clogging up the screen.
I'm making a map where I want players to be able to earn money for kills
I want the money to be used to buy new abilities for their units, but I don't want the player to have to purchase the ability from a "store"
Instead, I would like the ability to already be on the unit, but it costs minerals to use the new ability
So the interface is always the unit and players use new abilities in real time
How can I make it so
- An ability is grayed out until the player gets the right amount of minerals, then becomes colored when the player can afford it
- Once an ability is purchased it subtracts the minerals from the player and grays out the ability if the player can't afford it
- It lists the price when you hover the mouse over the ability to get the tool tips
Thanks, I'm new here, I'm not totally sure if this is the proper forum for this request
I like the new set up better (Z X C). I noticed with the grenades (at least) I picked them up with out having to press C
I could be wrong about that though, I'm not 100% sure
The old gravity felt more jet pack like but the new set up offers more control
i think you just need to increase gravity a bit and it'll feel balanced, just my preference, it was still fun
when you press down i think you hover too fast, there's no de-acceleration, it feels a bit odd
not sure if this is intended or not
I would like to see those tanks removed
t would be cool to have walls that would kill you if you ran into them or like a fire "vent" or something that would go off every so many seconds
possible weapon suggestions would be a machine gun or some sort of rapid bullet gun that is weak
or a gun that makes a turret
or a gun that shoots a giant web slowing all enemys
if you could pick up extra health or a shield or invisibility support items that would be cool

I thought this was just a trailer and that this map (cinematic) would be released for the public to view on their own hardware?
