Yeah i totally agree ive watched all the episodes and i love them i do actually watch because im interested in modeling and map making. but as a few others have said im in NA and anybody whose up that early in the mornin probably isnt going to be watching modcraft.. but as you all said its really gotta be in the time thats apropriate for the hosts...
Anyways i do hope to see the show go on, and damn good job guys and gal lol
there is a wepon pack availible in the assets section it has every units weapon and pieces of armor.. its not hard to accomplish what you want to do... the medic could have a damn chaingun if you wanted. there are a few tutorials that ive looked at myself here and they tell you how to do all that stuff with wepon pickups.
just so everyone knows it DOES spawn enough to fill 256x256 no lag but ofcourse it was bare map but using drones or supplys lowerd made the trigger fail so..
i did a test attaching a region to my unit and creating/killing the units in it to move with in that region, but sadly its true it takes a way bigger toll on performance i even did the math on how many units it would take to fill my region and putting the max amount of units for player X and set it to 1.5 that ammount being the max amount of units on screen. so even with it only having to maintain 45(i used supply depots lowered) inside my region while killing the others outside of it, the lag was still terrible. i think maybe even zoning them might cause problems but i do think it would be better than doing the attached region trick, and i hopefully still get to make my rpg as big as i really want it. hopefully someone comes up with a fix for it =D
awesome coverage on this subjec im extremely impressed and i would love to see more posts from you. can you point me in the right direction to creating my items models that better resemble what the item actually is. like lets say for start, my armors chest piece to resemble a chestpiec and so on for leggings and even more. are .tga files what i would use in the creation? what kind of editing software would i need to make my own and how difficult would it really be? im a fast learner ive only had the game for 3 weeks now and ive spent probably 75% or more of the time in the editor and on mapster lolz.
your right about being able to do it with a trigger. im making a diablo style rpg with a urban feel to it. all moving is done through triggers. as for it being in the data edior im almost positive its not possible cuz right click is naturally programed to the move command. if you take it away im not sure what it would do.. the trigger is easy to setup, probably your best bet
sweet work cant wait for library of this. i really need it infact that character selection is kinda the same as a diablo/champions theme which im using diablo movement in my map, but for this version im doing it with an urban feel on characters, id like to have the 4 direction(NSEW) "spell/ability" dialog like used in other rpgs. i need some help on items though i want individual models for diffrent items ie. the chestplate being a chestplate, wepons being guns and so on.
hey whats up im making a map incorporating diablo style movement and i need the green box when you left click and drag. and i would like to change the cursor. any help or suggestions are appreciated
well i have my original working.. my map has zones ie the starting zone then a level 1-5 zone etc. so i can trigger it through regions to spawn my units i use for movement in the backround(lowerd supply depot with opacity at 0). so like on the ramp to zone 1 i put a squar region then i put another 2 rectangular ones inside at opposite ends of the square one, one on the starting zone side and one on the level 1-5 zone side, one says into "zone name" and vise versa it will display a message with name of the sone you are in such as wow. so then i made a trigger that runs when you enter the square one and checks which region your in inside the square telling it which way you came from sort of. it was my best idea and i get to keep the huge map. i know it kinda fails if you have each of 5 players in different regions but.. the whole point of my rpg is to play it in sequence as a group.
