Bro, I'm having problems. I used the m3 sequences thing to set up an animation, then i moved the keys around, all good. Then I exported it (made sure that export animation was checked), but when I import it in SC2, the animation won't show.
Hello my fellow mapsters. I want to make a very simple animation from a model I have in max. Its simply an item floating (turning on itself). What program do I use to create this? Do I use the max tools? I have no real experience exporting animations, and I haven't actually animated anything much at all before.
But I created an animation by setting the position of my item setting keys (with the bar at the bottom of the screen in 3ds MAX 2010). But when I try to export it (using the latest M3 exporter), it says "Unable to convert: undefined to type: StringStream" And I have no idea what that means, what's wrong or how to fix it!
Yay! I made it work thanks to Tiger. It was a thing with the textures (they weren't set), I hadn't imported them totally in Max, don't remember how I did it the first time but i had to manually take each map and apply it.
Anyways, Now I need to figure out a way to make a simple animation (make it hover like an item). Ideas?

I am deeply inspired by this map. Specially the cave, god damn! Haven't seen much else like it.
I was hoping for some clarification: How exactly do you texture the cave model? And which programs do you use?
If anyone could help, it would be huge for our team!

Glad you people like it. A playable version shouldn't be far away, but we are planning on including many improvements before that.

Also, how do we animate for SC2? Do we use the max thingy?

Is this a good place to ask for logos/ loading screens? We currently have no 2D artists
of course, every piece of help will be greatly appreciated and of course you will be named in the credits :P

Ok, so here is my problem, it involves importing and texturing.
I want to make the marine shield a model by itself, sort of like an item, for this example.
In 3ds max, it already has its textures since I got them from the base assets. However, when I export the model onto SC2, it is textureless
Ideas?
