Hey, I'd like to get in just for fun :D Know how to play with the data editor (nothing special, just understand the basics), can try to learn triggering. My main spec - terraining.
For the nice looking, interesting maps, they could have an array of map "chunks" - they can be arranged in random order.
I would like to see that type of gameplay and try it. It sounds promising and interesting :)

Why are certain melee players considered good? How are melee maps appreciated/judged?
In practice, players select a map they get to know by heart, apply build orders and tactics that are rehearsed to death.. over and over.. and then go to the next map.
It's not the build order that wins a match, but a player that executes it and improvises.

Look at the graph. From the right the graph is nearing a +inf, and from the left is -inf. From the theorem it is known, that having to different limits at one point from different sides means that it limit is undefined. So, a/0=Undefined!
ONTOPIC
While loading the map, the Messege box now gives those... coordinates? (ex. [98 1] or [9a 1] or [cef 1])) What can they possibly mean?
Dividing by zero is impossible. If it's possible, then it should break any logic. Look at this:
Any number multiply by 0 equals 0. So => 6*0=0 and 2*0=0 => 6*0=2*0
Since division by zero is possible, then it means 6*0/0=2*0/0 => 6=2
Which means, math is broken. And that's bad :D
Can you clarify it? Played TF2 from the early 2008, and I don't know about these "stamps". You mean a compretition of custom maps, which then wen't official (included into build of the game + with an award to the author of the map)?
1) I doubt it. It wasn't stated, but I think that it is unreasonable to do that. Selling a set of upgrades (I presume you mean Premium content) would be just like a robbery. The map itself is not a huge creation, and they are alowing us to sell it, and selling premium content (upgrades done in 5 minutes) are just a joke. +, from the technical side, it's hard to create, because after transaction the battle.net should assign a flag to each account wich bough this content, and store it at the buyers computer, so that the map can read it. There is a bad consequence - if it is stored on our computers, then it can be easily hacked. After that, say hello to piracy!
2) Also not stated. But yes, why not?
3) taking into consideration the costs of the average map - 2-3$$, make it subscription based -> aprox 20 cents a month? -> transaction fees takes a portion of it, blizzard takes a % of it, and you get... 5 cents? 10 cents? Well, anyways it would be to small of an income to have. (The thought of having a subscription for a map is just silly for me).
Here's a simple equation, which, I think, Blizzard is aiming for (in simmilarity) - MapStore=AppStore.
No, no. Making trees 1x1 will make it hell of a job to place em. I tell you that you make the lower area wider for 1 square (as an example for screen), then move all the trees a little, and do that kind of job for everything else.
I have a done version of vampirism. And remaking that terrain (by just copying, moving, and raising some cliffs) is EASY. And not time consuming. There is no problem in the editor, all tiles are normal size. Cliffs are using a 1x1 square of terrain, while your trees footprint take 2x2. That's in the sc2 ver, in wc3 ver - everything 1x1. See the problem? It's not the editor, it's just your planning. And that's why I suggest you to redo your terrain.
I see there a problem of design, not the editor. You just wrongly done the terrain. That problem of yours is simply avoidable. Just remake the hills (scale smth up, or down).

When are you going to actually create a team and how are the team going to communicate? I'd suggest skype, or even steam.

Never had any problems with that... Allways cliffs were placed as needed. Can't you just raise a cliff 1 cell more?
