The 10mb limit is just ridiculous. It gains ppl who make fast remakes of some old td from wc3. I dont see why blizzard would want you punish hard working people like you. :/
I just have to ask. Did you start out making the map in the beta editor, and then switched to the current editor? There are lots of shit that happen to your map if you switch like that, and i dunno how to fix it atm. I had the same problem, and after a while i just gave up and started anew on the new editor, at least you can copy all of the triggs and much from the data editor.
Actually that is a good way of fixing upgrades and spells done entirely in the data editor. But what about spells made by triggers? Im currently making a sort of a hero arena, and i've had to do like this:
(
Button - Learn
Blablablabl jgkdgjdkfgd for xx dmg and stuns for lalalala.
Level 1: 20 dmg, 2 sec stun.
Level 2: 40 dmg, 3 sec stun
etc
)
(
Button - Spell [Level x]
Blablablabl jgkdgjdkfgd for xx dmg and stuns for lalalala.
This way you see what level of the spell you have and can quickly look for which on the infos at the back of the spell you currently possess. But for a spell with lets say 20 levels, that would be kind of annoying.
Just place them manually on the bridges and let the trigger do the rest. Well, depending on how many walkable bridges you have. :) Aren't there any pathing/placement fields to edit on the rain objects in the data editor? Or on the bridges?
The reason why i keep bumping the post is becuase if the post falls beyond the 1st or 2nd page, most ppl wont bother to look at it. Also because i thought this would be easy to do so someone could just answer it quickly.
However, I apologize and thank you for your answer.
EDIT: I know how to use actors, I just wanted to know if there was a simple way of adding a "silence" effect. But as i thought, it seems you have to disable every possible ability. Since im making a hero arena with no creeps, i guess it wont be too much of a pain to get them all in there.
What i was looking for specifically was a single target spell which damages and silences the target for a duration, and with your help, i can now do that.
There are some things to think of that separates really good balance in hero arenas (etc) from the mediocre.
Many people think like this "Well lets make all heroes have same hp mana etc and then make the spells from there" or "This heroes damaging spell can't be more powerful than that heroes dmg spell or it will be op"
IMO, a better way to think is to see through all aspects. Like "well this heroes main spell does more damage but that heroes damaging spell works alot better in symbiosis with his other abilities"
It's hard to "help" you balance anything atm since you havent presented any units or anything, but if you present something a bit more solid i could try to help you. kisses

Is the lag there directly when you start it or do it escalate from the beginning and on?

I want a single target silence. Why do you think that AoE would be easier?
