I have seen a bunch of triggers about data tables, but I don't think I have had any use for them... which brings me to my question of why do people use data tables versus global variables or whatnot?
I am making a defense map where you can use a scv to build barricades during the downtime, and I was hoping there would be a way to have an scv build a custom building with the model of a defense wall unit. atm its just an scv with a button that creates the wall with a long casting time, but i'd like to have the whole construction effect instead.
im on xp and i dont log in to the editor or the game to use the editor. furthermore i can't test my maps if starcraft is already running, it has to be closed and rebooted via editor in order to work
i think intercepters aren't in cargo, they are kinda integrated into the carrier. maybe you can make the training button train a marine but no marine appears and a trigger fires instead to make the unit in cargo
ok, i think i can figure it out. i am making a trap where the turrets are burrowed until some units get in the middle of a valley, then they all pop up and rape face.
Back in sc1 when you placed sentry gun doodad turrets, you could lower/raise them by doing the toggle doodad trigger. How do you do that with the new turrets/supply depot?

@roguelike: Go
i think you can make an invisible object on both ground and air planes that collides with units and that may work

use triggers instead?
