    likely they are implementing either a f2p or a demo/trial system where you can play those maps only
    and either pay subscription/microt/pay for the rest of the game
    to unlock the rest

    with diablo 3 news this is no suprise.
    does anyone even care anymore.
    gaming is going down the shitter.

    i cannot understand anyone who is supportive of this idea ever. my fucking mind is blown at people supporting this.
    yes valve did. i also bought a TF2 which did not have a cash shop and i have never once purchased an item with real money. it goes against everything i play games for.

    whats next, if diablo 3 makes record sales which it probably will every fucking game will implement a cash shop
    call of duty - "people already boost. so we just offered to sell a max prestige everything unlocked character for an extra fee!"
    wow - "people already sell gold so we just integrated that into the AH. it worked for D3!"
    wow - "people already pay for power levelling, so we just sold them max level characters in full tierwhatever!"
    starcraft - "people already pay to get their accounts boosted in ranks. so we just integrated buying straight ladder points along with our map marketplace!"

    yea. this is a great business move. turning a market you have no slice off and integrating it into the game to steal that for yourself.
    no-one wants to play a game by a business man.
    atleast i dont.

    fuck this. buy whatever the fuck you want. support whatever fucking absurd money grubbing scam you want. it's your money right?

    This is something you learn after you screw it up and have to remake your character, not intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to apply what you know to a given situation to solve a problem.     i feel it can end up that way but seriously. you can change your stats to reflect the abilities/playstyle you want to play and itemset you want to use
    now it's all locked. cookie cutter. one single path. a layer of depth gone.

    another thing i read alot of people play these games for the numbers and it's pretty much true. you play to get higher level. to get better gear. to get bigger damage numbers and the versatility stats/talents/skill sets allows you to mess around and play with different things.
    so no. i dont see it the same as you.
    and besides. how hard was it to see in diablo 2 "all the items i need require strength, guess i should pump that... hmm im dying abit too easily. should get my hp up. mana? i dont really need that, etc" it was not difficult at all.
    besides i had heared of them offering respecing. so whats the problem. i dont see it. all i see is game layers being stripped away and replaced with a cash shop that skips 90% of the game.

    was a funny quote i got from reddit in regards to why they've removed stat allocation

    this is THE description of dumbing down a game. something skilled players are able to use to get a leg up over people who aren't as good at the game.

    stat allocation is gone, most skill allocation is gone, theres a pretty lame skill customization system that seems pointless.
    you dont even need to farm items, just buy them.

    it really pisses me off they've implemented this system and are encouraging people to use it.
    my fucking gaming life is ending as i see it.
    people are overly positive about this and are obviously going to support it.
    more games will implement similar features and it's only going to get worse.

    what have i done with my life....

    also i agree the graphics really are very underwhelming

    people also joked about this stuff years ago
    now it's a reality

    those websites should be condemed and action taken to disrupt their trade. NOT INTEGRATED INTO THE GOD DAMN GAME.
    it'll only get worse. gold farmers need not fear the ban hammer anymore. all the best items will be sold. people will be laughed at for not having the very best gear and called noobs because they didn't buy their gear. COOKIE CUTTER ONLY PvP.

    ruins the entire game for me.

    i'd like to alter some protoss buildings myself but alot of the materials and particles get messed up

    everyone hates whinging. they get tired of seeing it. blah blah.
    i used this arguement for lan and i will use it here.

    yea everyone gets sick of  the complaining.
    but game developers have learnt time and time again if they just ignore the whinging it goes away with time.
    especially when prominant community members support them and swing the community in their favor of "deal with it"
    as soon as everyone stops complaining, blizzard thinks it isn't a problem anymore
    and it NEVER gets fixed. EVER.

    i've tried many times to get blizzard to change things, they dont listen and they dont care.

    like fucking christ, the 2 minute timeout for publishing a map.
    it's a fucking variable in the map editor that cuts off the connection after 120 seconds.
    it's not in the battle.net server at all. it's ON THE CLIENT.

    i've made multiple threads about it here and on battle.net forums.
    i've tried kicking up a storm. but you know what? no-one reads the custom map forums.

    it's the most basic fucking problem i've ever experienced in my life
    and yet im forced to use a fucking 3rd party speed hack to get around it.
    just like people are resorting to 3rd party software to either
    a) have custom ladder/matchmaking
    b) some form of global ranking/stats

    like i said in the other thread. blizzard allocated fuck all to the sc2 dev team, they are a tiny group who are right now making hots and shitty melee maps for their ladder.
    then they are going to be working on legacy of the void.
    then maybe the custom map system and battle.net in general will get a decent makeover... oh wait. no they are just going to pull the sc2 team to work on the next wow expansion.

    i've struggled, for a very long long time trying to justify the last year i've spent with the map editor open.
    gets harder every day.

    personally i dont get some of the most played maps
    many of them are not very fun, i was a big fan of marine arena but i think it was ruined by shifting heavy focus onto the mercenaries.
    when it was a careful balance of micro'ing and positioning your marines it was great.
    other maps i dont even understand. except for the fact that they use banks and an xp/unlock system. people love the grind more than the game?

    anyway, yea it is obvious blizzard just wanted to put the maps with the most hours played in that article.
    whatever you know. Blizzard are too busy making more expansions(coughdlc) and horrible melee maps people dont want for their ladder.

    that said i can't blame blizzard for being so thin stretched, their business focus is on wow, SC2 has such a small team it's a wonder to me anything gets done at all.
