found a detour.
ie. if you create a model pack mod, you must ceate your units within that said model pack. like say.. load a new model for the zealot, set the new model for the zealot within the mod itself. then it will automatically override the zealot's model in the map file. still, the model won't show up in the list of the map, but it will show you that it loads the model from the mod that is set as a dependacy
i know the map, but it doesn't have the quality of war3's ID. a ton of balance needs to be done to that map before it will get popular. plus imo it was rushed into release since its balance and quality are below v2.0.0 ID
not to sound too far fetched but, i and a friend of mine are working on Island Defense 2!
it's gonna be a while before it will be out but we're doing our very best to bring a quality ID map to sc2. We're also getting advice from Neco and Gwypaas, as they both were ID editors. i will be making a main thread about it's development both here and on islanddefense.org
all i can say for now is that every builder/titan in ID2 will be a worthy sc2 mirror of their war3 counterparts, with added bonus twinks to better take advantage of sc2's editor flexibility. Think of this as not a completely different gameplay but mor of a "reload" on the war3 ID gameplay. AKA we won't change the core gameplay of the map, just expand upon it.
I'd also like to say that i'm in agreement with Gwypaas tohave him publish it on the EU server while i will publish it on the US server.
