i found a tool to convert but i get a problem the .m3 file does not recognize the .dds format for textures where and how i can fix this?(plz try to explain in pass to pass again :P i'm not skilled in using 3d programs i have 3dmax(but dont know houw to use him good)
hi guys i have a little question, after see some video tutorials, where i can set to show on mine editor the usable areas(the areas where i can place units and appear in game( the real usable map), where i can set to display this to me? i tried in view>show placement grids>grids but i dont liked becuase make mine map get smalls green brightlighs squares show the nom usable in red but i see in some ppls videos showing on map a hugh square line much better than that grids, where i can set this?
u can explain a few bit more detailed? like a mini tutorial? and another question about weapons i want mine hero attacks be based on the weapon him is weirding like if him using a melee weapon then him attack at melee range(with the apropriate animation for that weapon like if him using a 1hand weapon then him use the animation for 1hand to attack, if him using a bow then attack from range withe the bow animation). maybe can be better i say who i'm still not learned on how create weapons(still finishing learning how to create abilities).
hi guys i have some problem while exporting models from wow because they are so too hugh making mine maps get so big even only 1 unit can get something near 1 to 3 mega, have any way to reduce this maybe changing him .tga files from another format type like .dds and without loose too much qualilty. if possible any1 can post a small tutorial on how to done this?
edit: i'm very nuub with this, i'm using the wmv to export dont have any good real knowledge on 3dmax or thers programs but not bad at following explained stepps.

i'm creating a rpg map with some custom npcs(models imported from others sources), and want know how to change the equips who the model is using ex:
mine unit is a hero who have a inventory with slots for armor weapon shield helms and when change type of weapon its using in game, like he is a warrior using a axxe then i change in inventore the weapon to a sword then the in game model get changed to that weapon if i put a shield then appear a shield.
hi guys after look at some tutorials i learned how to import models from wow unique models and custom(characters) models, the regular unique models(like alexstrasa, arthas, varian and all) working fine but the custom(characters) i can import only 1 to the map because all share the same "body" and "hair".tga file making i get many bugs when try to import like the second after models imported get the same color and near texture from the previus first model(ex: i imported first a draenei female using a plate armor and when try to import a tauren using cloth robe, The robe has the same color and model of armor like that, so changing the skirt, the hair is discolored, or so it's armor with the colors of the first characte.
have anyway for i can rename the tga files throught the WMV(u can teach)? if not is possible make throught the game? or throught the 3dmax and how to do this? or have any other way to fix this?.

Is there a way to change the file the textures are called, and still link up with the model?
for example extracting a custom npc, uses humanfemale.m3 + body.tga + hair01.tga
now thats fine if only importing 1 custom npc into sc2
however the 2nd entirely different custom character imported also uses "body.tga" and even sometimes the same hair path
so is there a way to change the filenames of the textures?
Also...is it possible to make the .tga textures into .dds and still work? to save space...if not...whats the best method to shrink down a 1MB .tga...with some quality loss is ok...

hi i read u tutorial was great but i have some problems wiile exporting multiple characters because all use same settings(body, hair) and this make the models got some mixed glitchs(all have the same armor colors and near same texture with few changes) how i can fix this?(how i can rename the body and hair models without bug the char?).
