For this week, I've got a completely new theme for you folks: "Scorched Earth". Remember when the Protoss burned Chau Sara in StarCraft 1? I'd like to see a terrain that represents what would be left of a planet obliterated in such a fashion. Show us an empty yet interesting terrain of a burned planet!
But I kind of feel that protoss would vaporise pretty much anything and what is left would be sand, broken parts, melted metal, craters, cracks, no building would still stand, it would be impossible to live there. That's how I imagine an already arid planet beeing eradicated or purified by massive laser beams. Oh and I would imagine there should be creep and Zerg burned corpse and darken skin of any living things remaining... with ashes floating in the air and the smell of mass destruction.
I think Jungle Plains is the pre-purified environment. If you look further down at the screenshot of the map 'Ghost Town' which is in the ruins of a Chau Sara city it uses the Wasteland tileset. To me Scrin King's pic looks like it's in the immediate aftermath of the purification.
Also keep in mind Mar Sara was purified in SC1... granted it didn't change much from what we saw in SC1 to SC2 xD
Weekly Terraining Exercise #239
Hey hey folks!

As always: good luck, and have fun! :)

It looks really nice.

I like the idea, but I'd scale the mothership and the beam like.... 10x bigger. THE mothership with THE purifier beam that just melt anything :P
