Yeah I think the identifiers are such a bad idea. Its funny cause a couple hours ago I was playing SC2 just fine and now I get this stupid error when I try to play via Match Maker - "S2MASTER_SERVER_ERROR_INVALID_DATA". And I also can't reply or post comments on the battle.net forums I get that error everyone is getting at the top right. "An error occurred while retrieving this character. Please try again in a few minutes." Damn Blizzard.

Forums are down right now because the servers are down, which is why you're getting that error.

Identifiers was the worst idea ever.

Agreed. We should've kept the unique identifiers and dropped the common names.

With identifiers being removed, multiple names with the same spelling are now able to be created. I am guessing that the Blizzard fix for this is no more typing in names, only clicking. I am now unable to find old friends. One of my friends also knows of two characters of the same name and is confused as how to distinguish them.

On another note, my character (and others) are also unable to be retrieved on Battle.net for the time being. If this is stemmed from the patch update than disregard this.

It's not a bug, this is intended, unfortunately. I think it's ridiculous.

What error message do you receive?

"An error occurred while retrieving this character. Please try again in a few minutes. "

Looks like the forums are bugged.
