I am borrowing the theme started by nelsencaleb here so I need to give credit because it’s a great category for assistance.
I just started looking at the SC2 map editor and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to remove an extra unit that I put down accidently. Example, you accidently plop down two Pylons where you really only want one. I spent hours looking for this answer, and another hour or so just staring at the map editor looking for the option. It has been a LONG time since I made a SC map, and I didn’t get into WC3 map making, so I was feeling quite frustrated.
Well I finally found the solution when I was looking through the menu at the top of the editor for the hundredth time and I noticed something under Tools of all places that said Selection Mode and gave an indicator of the Space key to enter. So with the Pylon tool still floating on my map I hit the space key and the sky parted and the angels sang and the Pylon was gone and replaced by an arrow key I could click the unwanted one then delete.
Hope that helps. I KNOW others will have the same problem.
switch to unit tab, select any unit from panel, deselect(esc, i think this is bug, without selecting/deselecting you cannot select units on map or i miss somesing), select wrong placed unit with mouse, move/delete
