I have seen starwars: empire at war and and old + free starwars RTS single player somewhere. I want to make a game similar to a battle like those. It will be a space battle where ships act like your buildings to make your units. You expand your fleet by finding minerals, collecting them, and bringing them back to your nearest base. The minerals also reappear after a while. This isn't the traditional gather, each ship has a different "cargo bay size" so each unit is able to haul a different amounts of minerals back. You also gain half the minerals each enemy unit killed was worth.
Expand your fleet with different specialist units -
scouts = fast, low hp and small cargo holds - the perfect recon/ambush unit
fighters = fairly fast, decent hp and medium cargo holds - decent, all around unit
frigates = fairly slow, good hp and large cargo holds - deal high damage, perfect support vessel or long-trip miner
strato-destroyer class capital ship = extremely slow, huge amount of health, largest cargo bay - the perfect "I win you noob" attack ship
There would also be support/builder units for a sort of "tech tree"
Would this make for a decent space battle and would anyone be interested? I do not have huge amounts of editor skills yet but with a little help from the community I think I might be able to pull this off...
I am can implement my random map generator to your map from my space rts, Including wormholes and space nebulae. If I see, that you are really working on your map. (I dont like to help projects, which become dead after 1 week)
For the record, a destroyer in naval terminology is a fast ship with lighter armaments than a battleship or battlecruiser that is typically used to chase down other ships. Not saying you have to adhere to that, but I think anyone with a clue about the word "destroyer" might sigh if they see another misuse of the term!

It sounds like the Homeworld 1-2.

I understand that :) What specifically are those wormholes and space nebulae? basically go to region, warp to other region?
I'll try to show you something as soon as I can. If the project falls through, I'll say that also, but I feel fairly good about this.
nvm double

Ok, so "dreadnught" then...
I just used a jackson's revenge and named it "Strato-Class Dreadnaught"

There are nothing special about them, however I have lots of work in the map generator. Specially in suns/stars, however they have no use at all:D
