For those who want to delve into attachments here is a good tutorial for that.
If you don't know how to start, ProzaicMuze made a step by step tutorial: How to make an Uberlisk. Don't be afraid by the length of it, it really goes into great detail to explain why things were done, it takes no more than 10 minutes to do the Uberlisk.

You don't have to customize the model of the unit, but then it would be plain. Look at what people did for the creature contest. This one is expanding on that to fill in some abilities that go with the theme.
Here it goes, I finished this several days ago. Downtime ftw :)
Proudly presenting:
The Blazing Hulk
Theme: Its obviously a water/ice based creature. Spell 1: Creature charges towards a target direction, crushing everything in its path. Spell 2: Creature shoots laser/heat beams from its eyes, travelling a crossed path and dealing damage on contact with enemy units as well as igniting them, causing damage over time.
BTW another question:
The contest is focused on visual appearance, correct? Actual playability and 100% bugfree working spells are not required, right?
Otherwise, I will have to rework my creature a bit, currently it uses a few too many particle effects so it drops my FPS easily; also the spells are not useable for every possible situation (the charge ability bugs with buildings or obstacles blocking the path)
It can be any units, it just need to have a theme. And the unit model should go with that theme. For example if you want to make pikachu, you need to have some thunder/sparky spells and a rat-like model.
On the other hand, if you want to start from your stalker model, make some dark/void spell to go with it :)
Seeing as we haven't had a contest in a little while and since we haven't had one like this in a long time. I figured it is time to do it!
What to do?
Create a THEMED creature that is complete with spells. There are a few rules:

Possible ideas might come from a previous contest that was similar.

What happend to ye old avatar? You know, the 6th one that shows up when you google "black hole" :D
EDIT: And if I was to make something, I wouldn't to be able to make a video :{
I'm assuming you mean imported models, not custom models?
Great to be back and part of the community again!
Updated the rules, kind of reused old formats.

I'll make the vid for you if you want.
I'm not sure I entirely understand this contest. Is it just a hero with a theme and some abilities? Theme as in ice templar or fire zergling?
Creature/hero with abilities that has some sort of theme, ice templar, fire zergling, carebear tank. As long as there is a distinguishable theme.

Ok, I might be able to work with that.
Tutorial link is not working.
Are blizzard mods allowed? Like Left 2 Die dependencies?

Anything that blizzard made is fair game.

it mustn't be a "creature" must it? Any unit would be fine I guess
by theme he means, a terran marine with a psi storm and and the ability to spawn lings would be odd.

So is it a queen riding a .. wait, no, wtf are these ???
What do you mean by theme?
@AegisRunestone: Go
THEME: a unifying or dominant idea, motif, etc.
Kueken went for a "Fire" theme. There are several posts and an example of "theme" in this very thread... like progammer's post, or Kueken's video...

The tail of "Blazing Hulk" seems a nydus worm.
no custom models, but custom textures are fine? but i guess it is a simple texture swap with some kind of lava ground texture
but wtf is this the queen is riding?^^
