As of now, you right click and he shoots the gun in that direction (once). So you have to keep clicking. And the attacks are projectiles, so they can miss.
edit- I'm not even sure if the map would be fun now.....I built some more stuff more the map (spawn system, waves, terrain, etc...) and as I was testing it I started to think a TDS map might not even be fun like this.... :( Dunno what 2 do about this.
You know what you should develop a NPC UI Control system. Kind of a hybrid between assasins creed brotherhoog and battlefield or something. You are the unit leader and there are buttons for your units to follow you and auto attack, hold position, patrol, scout, use special abilities. You can set up individual and group controls and limit the squads to 4 or 6 for a single player... if multiplayer each human player has a squad. It would make gameplay a little bit more interesting... commanders can call down nuke strikes, bombardments, or where the NPC unit build turrets etc. It would be interest in FPS, TPS or a top down shooter.. especially maps like vector. It would be neat if you can meet certain players in mission have them join your party and then if you have a large scale game with banks... you can load up members of your party like in mass effect or fire emblem or something... it would take a lot of trigger work etc. but it would be awesome
I'd either do a scenario (involving constant use of the unit you created and its weapons, maybe making him evolve and buy the upgrades later)... Or a minigame map, because when you have a cool feature and nothing to do with it yet, the best thing to do is create a minigame which will make full use of this feature (like capturing/killing creeps, and having to fight against another team which goal is exactly the same).
The problem is I really want to make an "epic" map. Not just another DOTA map, not just a tower defense, not another nexus wars, etc....And this map just seems like it won't be fun to play for some reason. Either way I'm not feeling like I'm gonna make this one, at least not in a TDS format. TPS and FPS would be really fun but lag would kill it and make it impossible....I'm kinda searching my brain for some more ideas again. If I officially decide not to work on this further, I'll release the map file for others to use.

create a story based map. create a story... develop the UI and saving system... develop the terrain and go with the flow... Simply work on designing terrain while your brainstorming and move forward with your ideas accordingly... often I take breaks from actuall modifying my terrain and try to learn and use different features.
Next time brainstorm and write your ideas out before you try to create them and work around your concepts... the only way a top down shooter will work is if you created a unique terrain... You always have the option of creating a side scroller like the metal slug remake...
Create a legend of zelda style map. Except make it like four swords where there is multiplayer and some secrets can only be found with all 4 players. Although you can change the amount to be however high you want.
You'll have a menu for buying/selecting your weapons/items for the next mission to come... Create X maps, each corresponding to an assassination mission and/or stealing documents without being detected, etc...these maps will combine interiors and exteriors, with guards patrolling almost everywhere and people wandering in the corridors and rooms. It can be multiplayer (4 assassins max), though it will be quite hard to give it some replay value when everybody knows the missions by heart... :(
You can have missions where cooperation is mandatory (for example, 2 guys will go clean a secured house, while 2 other guys are hacking a computer to open the doors for them). The objective as an assassin is to be stealthy to earn more points, and keep your ammo to get rid of your targets only (you'll need to make the ammos rare and expensive)... The more points you earn, the better are the weapons/items you can buy for the next mission. You can try to implement something that will disguise your assassins too, so that guards won't notice them. And the ability to place traps too, to get rid of their targets without being close to them.
You can have another team of players that will act as bodyguards. Their role will simply be to kill any assassin in the area and prevent their boss(es) from being killed. They will have a bunch of tools/keys/weapons that will help them detecting the intruders and traps, and they will need to communicate with each other to know where the assassins are and how to get them. They can use alarms, security cameras, call the police, etc...
Actually, to had some replay value there might be something simple: if you have, let's say, 8 objectives/targets per map... just set the objectives to something like 3 targets only, choosen randomly between the 8 available. That way, the mission will not order the assassins to kill the 3 same targets each time you play that map... Your maps will have to be very well designed, but it can be really interesting to have completely different objectives each time you play the same map, forcing you to explore areas that were locked last time you played.
I know the SC2 editor is not at all the best editor to do maps that actually look like those in Hitman, but you can use the concept in a post-apocalyptic background or something like that...
What about a turn based, tactical game. Maybe a card game but you also order the units around turn by turn? Could be kinda fun. You know, build decks, buy more cards, etc...? Also I never played or even heard of hitman before, but I'll go look it up on youtube and see what comes up. :D Thanks for all the posts, by the way.
edit- I'm already against what I just suggested about the card game...

lol thats the idea i gave in your ideas topic xDD
anyway i think a tactics would be nice but it would give a lot of work to the creators to make it right
Yeah lol I saw that and I was planning on sending you a PM about it but like I said, I kinda un-decided to consider it. :( Speaking of games that like that, though, what about a board game? :D That could either be really fun or the most boring map that will ever exist.
Oh hey I noticed you said the idea you gave ME in the ideas topic. Just to clarify that topic wasn't for people to give me ideas. That was just for people to post a lot of ideas for everybody to use as inspiration or something. You know, cuz 99% of maps are DOTA, tower defense, nexus wars, or poorly made single player maps.
edit again-
IDEA AGAIN! Nazi Zombies is one of my favorite things to play. What about if I changed the TDS map to be nazi zombies style? I could make a bunch of different maps for it also. What if it was nazi zombies style but with the option of other players playing as infected like L4D?
A map with zombies is nothing original... With DotA and TDs, I think that's in the top 5 of the most common map ideas... If you put it to the next level though (with really cool features never seen before) it might be interesting.
About making a board game, it's not a bad idea but be warned: it's a pain in the you-know-where to code. You also have to be cautious about how you manage turns, because people don't like to wait between each of their turns, they may quit the game when they're bored and other players won't stay either... But again, if you put it to the next level everything is possible.
Arrggg its so hard to come up with something original and fun...Dota and TD's have gameplay concepts proven to work well...Its why they're so popular. Your probably right about the zombies though, I'll just forget that idea. And the board game probably won't be fun either...

OMG yet another potential idea!!! I originally came up with the idea of zergling burgers wwaaaayy long ago. I was invited into the zergling burgers team to help build the map, however the team leader disbanded the project.
Could this be any fun at all? O.o I think it could be either super fun or super lame.

are your attacks auto-attacks, abilities, or projectiles? just curious :P

i think your should try to make a competitive game if its good enough it will make your map have clans :P
Lol....I want to make a competitive game that is good. The issue is I've totally hit a brain-block. Lol.
@michaelknives: Go
Yeah, your right. I made that concept document and intended to plan out some more ideas before moving forward but I jumped the gun a bit, so to speak.

different classes with different skills projectiles bouncing bullets dodging bullets xD
Hmm... A Hitman game, then?

erhem the game could be hitman 3024 or whatever year starcraft was created in. It would really not be that hard to target objectives...

make something inspired in the old sniperz maps cof cof (my fav in sc1 :3)
add stuff like dodgeable bullets etc
something where your skill counts(speed, reaction time, being smart) and not your character level.. smthing team based dunno
I think using that ghost would make for a really awesome 007 style map. Sneak in, plant bomb, ???, PROFIT!

Zergling Burgers
@GizmoPT: Go About he sniper map, I never played it. Either way, I'll keep it mind but feel free give me more info on it. :D
Maybe I could use the engine to make one of those " somebody is infected, but you don't know who" maps..
