I personally think that this project is at great risk since horror atmosphere and SC2 TPS, huh, hard to pull off.
GOOD LUCK ! Looks promising so far. Plot that usually never disappoints is the revealing one. Where you play and reveal all disaster that is going on going towards really dark vibe, maybe hell like doom games.
Hi, really impressed indeed. Yet the new focus that the project is taking sadden me. I was totally going for a silent deadspace-like games with falling-from-my-chair scary scenes ! :( This interface blind the whole screen and if a villain start talking to you endlessly, you couldn't see what he's up to !
The video is more a techdemo to show the progress that has been made the last three days and to get the chance to find some more people who want to support this project. The story in there, the layout, the voiceactors, the graphics... everything is not final yet, but some of the criticism here will be used already so thanks therefor :)
I'd say scratch the voices and just use text instead.
Not only will it be easier on the ears for some of us, it'll probably cut down production time as well.
Question to any who can answer- how did he make it 100% black in that one room (3 minutes in)? I thought you could only set global lighting settings. I noticed he toggles the lights an everything...
I'm so amazed. If I was some random person who happened to look at the vid I'd say when is Blizzard releasing this? Is this using all editor only assets or are there things you put in yourself?
The voices are really killing it for me. Also the camera bobbing while in dialogs make me sea-sick :O

The idle bobbing is going to be removed or atleast only being active while regaining stamina, i get sea-sick from playing it for longer periods.
We did avoid using the animated portraits since we cannot do lip-sync for them yet and i bet we won't be able to by the time this mod comes out.
And the water in the elevator is a part of a quest...
the voice acting is really horrible lol... but seeing this map has really inspired me. I liked how you used those door assets.
Honestly those missions were kind of gay. You should have kept the dead space theme. You could be like a search/rescue party... or pirates searching a direlect ship. The hub should be a base of operations on board and you execute missions to get the systems ship working/ finding the bridge... geting power life support working... then yah run into some zerg and in a cargo bay/lab you discover what the ships cargo was an alien hybrid or something... when you character walks down the halway have some weird voices calling out to fuck with his head like (bobby come out and playayy) or some crazy shyt... you should create a.i. units that act like a squad. in certain parts of the ship you can discover dead bodies and remember the zurgified doctor in the campaign i'd use her animations as hallucinations or whatever. This has a lot of potential... also order should be carried out froma bridge and also with all of that tech I think that the spectre would have a com device and it would be necessary for him to report back to the hub every mission.
Also the southern accents were horrible!!! you should make the bar tender a flamboyant gay guy.. there is no don't ask don't tell policy in the future marines
what would be cool is if the editor had a picture in picture feature. That way you can use drones and have a camera following its movements etc. even though before a unit would board a vessel depending on the circumstances the would send a drone first. My advise have a member of your team create a story arc and then edit accordingly
Wow, this is really cool! So you can use abilities in TPS mode? I would love to see the triggers you've used, and maybe we could figure out how to import them into some of the existing campaign maps. (I particularly want to see them used in the super-secret mission, and the first Zeratul mission, as well as the Nova and Tosh missions.)

Gotta say now im impressed. Earlier it didnt look so amazing to me, but now it actually looks like a good game.
Hopefully the gameplay and plot will be good too. Even tought it looks good, doesnt quite make it good yet.

the global light is really dark, most of the rooms are lighted by omnilights which can be scaled :)

I agree with the sentiment that a spectre shouldn't be sent on errands like getting a glass of water for someone.

I miss background music or ambiance. (ambiance sounds that would give the feeling that you are on a ship would be really nice.)
I'd rather have it with plain text than text and voice, honestly.
Emm... atmosphere, tension, sounds, music is really important factor in horror games...
About voice acting. Acting must be drown into the game, so you feel like its reality. That is really hard to pull off.
