Hello, in the following days, weeks or maybe even months :P I'll be releasing Diablo III themed texture packs.
They will consist of a map with extracted/edited textures from Diablo III for you to use! They'll each havve a theme, as there's so many textures to choose from and those themes will not necesarily reflect a whole act.
This time's theme is Tristram!
Yes! A whole texture pallete from things you see in new tristram or all around! Here's the pallete:
This tileset features selected textures from New Tristram in Diablo 3! The pallete was specifically designed to recreate and "capture" the tristram/Act I feel of Diablo 3.
You'll have a wide range from interior textures, to rock pathways and rocky muds and of course the yellow grass. In addtion to that you will also have 2 sets of textures with "grass patches" The rock cliff texture with grass patches and mud with patches for greater detail.
In addition to the textures the package also comes with normal maps! Something that Diablo III does have :P
BEWARE: Some of these textures have been edited to properly adapt themselves to Starcraft 2 resolution. A lot of these were 512x512 and some were even 256x256. But you get 1024x1024! Thus, some textures have been edited, modified, ect, to increase their level of detail so they can be 1024 format textures.
WARNING: Even if there's a cliff model and texture included in this map, it shouldn't be a part of it. Cliffs are "alpha" and not even sure if I'll end up doing them afterwards.
NOTE: All respective copyright and intellectual rights go to blizzard.
NOTE 2: No specular maps. The map comes with its own environment which, ideally, it's what you should use. Should you use another environment lightning make sure you disable specularity or else you're in for some serious lulz
I hope we will get more Diablo maps with more D3 models, tilesets and so on. I just wonder how it will looks in a map.
PS: It is great that you're a mod and your upload shows up after 15 minutes or so, but why must everyone else wait for over a day go get their assets released?

Is that really bad? I personally don't like messing around with accepting stuff, I must confess, but people can always just contact me or other mods, and we'll get on the file asap. Sometimes we just forget there's files to accept. And a day isn't really that bad now that I think about it.

and yeah, I sure hope so too, which is why I'll start creating tilesets. Models we've been able to extract for a long time now, just not animated ones.
Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up, The pallete is ready, though I found some technical issues. All the "details" you see in the high heavens aren't actually terrain, but rather, actual real models.
So I'm going to do the same :P
It'll take a little longer and will probably be a bit bigger, size-wise, since it'll actually include like 15+ or so decals/models to add that "extra" high heavens feel.
It is. The editing I do is barely minimal, and it's just to make high res textures (1024) since most of D3's are 512. But sure I guess I can record myself making a tileset once or so.
I've been able to get the models into 3dsmax fine but the texture exporter gives me errors. I'd REALLY like the keep dungeon (A3) models (no need for animated).
FANTASTIC work btw. I'll be using these tilesets for my first Arcade project!
Sorry guys, I've been disappointing on this, I don't promise much work in this week, I turn in my graduation project on the 19th so don't expect anything after that. I DO promise you that I am very motivated to finish many tilesets for you and that I will continue workign on them and haven't forgot about this :P

Originally I was planning to also release tilesets with cliffs. Then I stumbled upon blizzard's retarded cliff generation which is literally MAKE EVERY POSSIBLE CLIFF COMBINATION EVER. Which sometimes is up to 60 variations of meshes. That meant around 80 models per tileset (doing only one man made and one organic cliff set on each) which was a hilarious ammount of work to do :P
Then I said I'd make up for the lack of cliffs by making separate doodad packs, so yeah, there'll be doodads however I want to first finish doing many tilesets then I move on to doodads.
As to your problem with the texture exporter. If you're using the one in my video then you're using an outdated version. If you can catch up with me on msn or skype I can provide you the latest version or help you with your issues.
OH MY GOD! Thank you so much for taking it in consideration <3<3 !!
np. I really wanted to do it, and I saw your post in my first d3 asset and it really just motivated me much more to do it. I was going to do it but I was going to leave it for last. I saw your post and I was just like "screw this I'm going to do tilesets by request" :P

The town's called Tristram, though.
Well this is awkward... :P
You're my hero
By request, the next set I'll be working on is the high heavens.
@xcorbo: Go You know, you should work on the secret level tileset just for the lulz.
Keep these up, i think I really could use some of these textures.

Yes! Keep up the good work, xcorbo. I'll be waiting for super cool bastion's keep maps :P
This is what the terraining boards need, btw. Might need to put this in the FAQ there.
Looking good. Would you mind sharing your technique? I suppose it's not just export/import?

I'm streaming myself working on the heaven tileset atm: http://en.twitch.tv/xcorbo
EDIT: not going to talk much unless i get viewers and they and they ask me to, otherwise it's just me working and my music on t he background :P
@xcorbo: Go
Darn I missed you working. Can't wait for the rest of the tilesets.
On an unrelated note why do you hate onetwo?
@JacktheArcher: Go
Any plans to release D3 models/doodad packs? :D

Felt like I should apologize for slacking.

Well I really do hate him :P
He hates me back so it's k.
